I emailed Shire and said give shareholders a chance to say yes or no on any offer, not to just reject. We want AbbVie to come back or Amgen.

We have been played the bid was days ago and the rise was journalists or what ever trying to make money not understanding this is a terrible offer.The share price will never hit the stated offer as it is more like a merger with so much stock! Who wants so many shares in another company that could tank 20% in this then suddenly you give away the company.Takeda can't afford to buy shire that's what the deal is telling you.

This small increment tactic is about getting Shire to the table. A take it or leave it, final bid would likely include a gap up in price and an improved ratio of cash to equity in order to "secure the deal".

Why would takeda announce the bid now, 7 days after the fact - this means they've been in negotiations already on a further potential offer - pressure games?
