15/8/2013 10:14 | Penycae A trip down Nostalgia Lane somrthing I have managed to avoid so far.......maybe when I am older. The market appears to be coming to terms with the end of QE and reality starting to return. Although I am not expecting interest rates to rise for some time it could be very nasty when they do. I was listening to the 'Today' programme on the radio this morning and there was a piece on increased retail spending. Prices are rising faster than wages but people are borrowing to spend. Seems to me we are storing up the same old problems again. | bracke
14/8/2013 19:59 | Babywolf - used to live in Courtfield Gardens. Locals were The Courtfield, The Price of Teck and, The Stanhope, off Gloucester Road. Had some fish and chips upstairs in the Courtfield, which was strange, as the upstairs used to be a pretty wild disco when I lived there. The Teck and the Stanhope were pretty much the same. I had two nights in The Park Lane Hilton this week, but felt the need to turn the clock back a bit, hence the trip down memory lane! | penycae
14/8/2013 18:29 | Woah Penycae - you were in my neck of the woods - may I ask where you went? | babywolf
14/8/2013 17:55 | Afternoon all. Just got back from three days in London. I cannot understand why anyone would want to work there. I spent four years there in another life. Enjoyed myself when I had no money at all. Went down memory lane, and had a few drinks in some of the pubs I used to haunt off the Earls Court Road. The booze was much better in the old days, so was the music. Won't mention anything else.... All in all, glad to be back in the Principality. Don't have to wear a suit in 70 degrees either. Glen doing the business. Hope it continues to rise into next week. In the meantime, looking for a change in direction on DOW and Cable to get on the dark side. Daft I know, but I'll take those trades on SB's while still holding paper longs elsewhere. Trade well and prosper Earthlings..... | penycae
14/8/2013 13:03 | Babywolf Having read the above confusion reigns. Overall it appears positive...........I think. | bracke
13/8/2013 17:25 | Happy Trading. | bracke

13/8/2013 17:18 | El C Babywolf ceased trading STX some while ago and I am not aware any other poster is. Are you? | bracke
13/8/2013 17:04 | i note STX is setting up for a long trade at 38 if it gets there. we may never spot it tho as soon numptie STILL hasn't put a chart in teh header :) seen some guy touting it on CNBC other day as well, still saying its still cheap and is more of a big data cloud play than a PC company... | el chupacabra
13/8/2013 12:34 | LOL I don't think that monkey belongs to Penycae. His monkey wears pin stripe suits and colourful waistcoats. | bracke
13/8/2013 12:27 | anyone lost a monkey? | el chupacabra
12/8/2013 13:38 | Babywolf LOL! It was typed tongue in cheek. | bracke
12/8/2013 13:22 | Come on Bracke - you know better than to put 'happy' and 'refurbishing' in the same sentence! | babywolf
12/8/2013 10:07 | Good day Babywolf Until interest rates start to increase house prices heading up but it's academic unless you are selling to move abroad or selling a second house. Happy refurbishing! | bracke
11/8/2013 12:15 | Good afternoon Bracke & Penycae Just checking in. Refurb quiet for August but recommences August 20th. Stretched on my budget now so wont be able to do all I wished - am not good at compromising. Mark Carney anticipating interest rates remaining low until 2016 has me assuming property prices will continue north - I could have made a bigger mistake ie not bought at all and despite the headaches and stress, at least the property has appreciated like all others in the area. Good luck trading and with GLEN. Bye for now. | babywolf
11/8/2013 07:45 | Good day Penycae I was out on Friday. I notice DOW drpped after FTSE close. Ref GLEN My First target is approx 312. I have that as a fib,a down trend line and previous s/r. If it can move above that level then the next fib and s/r at approx 328 and then the Daily SMA 200 at 339. | bracke
09/8/2013 12:07 | Afternoon all. Markets look like they still want up. Good recoveries from the dips, but who knows what this afternoon will bring? GLEN doing well. Seems good for 350, but there'll be a bumpy ride like as not. I've set a target there, and I'll hang on until it's met. Trade well and prosper Earthlings........ | penycae
07/8/2013 17:10 | Penycae I think you have used up all your 2013 trading luck on the fx trades and then some! Ref Glen I have bought the shares with the intention of holding but reserve the right to sell if it suits. As usual I will attempt to trade what I see but I do ponder if the market thinks the 'good times' are drawing to a close and the DOW and FTSE highs are in. Reality commences to stalk the market. | bracke
07/8/2013 16:37 | Afternoon bracke! Broke a lot of rules on those GBP longs. Added to the GBP/Euro position when it was already underwater, and had ridiculous stops on Cable, believing that I could buy my way out of trouble. Only thing I did right was to move the stops when the trades came into profit. Didn't rush to close, just kept trailing the stops into the rise. Got out today but have to thank the B of E more than the monkey. Good to see you've got a bit of GLEN. If you're trading it, don't be afraid to take a profit. It's being played with at the moment. I'm holding long term for Mrs. P., but I've done a few in and outs for myself on some spread bets the last couple of weeks, which have given me the feel of it. | penycae
07/8/2013 14:58 | Good afternoon Penycae Nice cable trade but somewhat nerve wracking. Ref GLEN I have been watching them for a few weeks and bought a few yesterday. A mention of 'tapering' and the DOW has a turn. It's become an addict to QE and low interest rates. I suppose the next 'problem' will be the US Debt level; another kick down the road? | bracke
07/8/2013 14:45 | Closed GBP longs (cable and Euro), so the rent is covered for a couple of months. Had a lot riding on those trades, so pleased to be out. Just got to get GLEN moving for Mrs. P, and she might even crack a smile, let alone a bottle of fiz. | penycae
05/8/2013 09:55 | Good day Penycae The sun shines on the righteous which it was doing here yesterday. My money was on Dr Finlay....another 'duff' trade. I was thinking of your cable trades last week. Nuts and vice came to mind. Many years ago I used to travel up to South London using the M25. It was bad enough then! EDIT Your cable long looking good to-day (Monday). Are you expecting resistance at the Daily SMA 200? It does appear to be a regular s/r level. Or are you thinking more like 1.54? | bracke |
