07/6/2013 10:44 | Whilst waiting for the non farm figs, I remember when we had our kitchen done and the plasterer was ace. He was a big guy, and wore these mini stilts, drank numerous cups of tea on the quarter hour, smoked like a trouper, but not a drop of plaster landed on the floor, even though it was just the bare floorboards then, and as smooth as a baby's BTM. | wattene
07/6/2013 10:19 | Babywolf Good luck with the plastering. When it's all done perhaps a little 'plastering' of your own. Penycae Non Farm Payroll to-day. I suppose good is still bad and vice versa. | bracke
07/6/2013 08:21 | Morning all. Lot of folk in forex land looking for the dollar to rally today. Be interesting to see if it does. Got some dollar longs open, looking to trade gold either way. Babywolf - plasterers are usually the turning point on any renovation. Once the pink stuff starts drying out, you can see the project starting to turn. Make sure the dirty b*ggers do the ceilings first, and be careful not to get any "drop" on ceramic floor tiles. | penycae
06/6/2013 17:38 | Penycae Was the $ fall anything to do with Draghi's utterances? More often than not when the $ falls the DOW rises but not to-day, it fell with it. | bracke
06/6/2013 17:35 | DX down 1300. Unbelievable. Either a run on the dollar, or the FED with some kind of intervention. I think things might start to get unpleasant from here. | penycae
06/6/2013 17:10 | Dollar just taken one of the biggest hits I've seen in a long time. DX off over 1000 points and still falling. Trying to take out 1st May low in a single session. Not good for the rest of us...... | penycae
06/6/2013 12:42 | Good morning Penycae I can't comment on gold I have never traded it and very little on cable as I only occasionally trade it. I do ponder if those on the fx thread who are so certain of FTSE/DOW direction genuinly believe it or because they have taken a particular trade are committed to its direction. I understand that if one is taking what is expected to be a longish term trade ie. several days/weeks one has to take a stance but otherwise see no point. I trade intraday and during the course of the day will often trade both ways neither considering myself a bull or a bear. During the time I have visited this site and the indices thread I have seen people 'draw a line in the sand' and hold to it for weeks/months on end irrespective of what the market was doing. Very risky as some found out to their massive cost, and permanent termination of trading (Babywolf this is not a dig at you). | bracke
06/6/2013 11:24 | Morning all. Thanks for the info on the links Watte. Wondered why I had a problem with You Tube. Could have spent hours trying to sort that out. Same story as yesterday with gold. Got stopped out earlier on. Took the revenge trade, now even with a better long position than before. Cable long got stopped out on a limit order, so happy there. Taken a short to catch the dip, but the trend still appears to be up. Jobs data today may cause a bit of a sell off before issue. Got a sensible stop, so if it goes against me I wont get too badly mauled. FX thread continues to amaze me. All the bears now turning bullish trying to catch the rebound. If I was trading the indicies I'd stay well short and just hold my nerve on the bounces. If the downtrend continues, it'll be as savage as the rise. | penycae
06/6/2013 10:51 | Watte Thank for the xx/tt information. Shame about the tiler. Is it difficult to correct? | bracke
05/6/2013 21:13 | ADVFN are having a hissy fit on links containing hotel tango tango papa if they don't relate to adv's links. They had also made html inappropriate....... What a RED RED day, worst for a long, long time. | wattene
05/6/2013 16:07 | Penycae Something odd with my post 2148. It is showing different to that which I am typing? Second one should be not two x but two t. DOW appears to be in a bit of a meltdown. | bracke
05/6/2013 15:48 | Link seems to be broken on You Tube. Maybe they're trying to tell me something? Just bought into what I hope will be a steady rise on cable and gold. Lot of chop about though......... Planets lined up OK, but they could just as well pull the rug on either play. | penycae
05/6/2013 14:39 | Penycae 'hxxp' should be 'hxxp'. | bracke

05/6/2013 13:30 | Good day Penycae The danger with sitting and waiting is boredom and taking the trade to early. It's where the discipline comes into play and the will to sit and wait is required. Not easy after sitting for several hours. | bracke
05/6/2013 10:29 | Morning all. Aye, timing is everything. Bought some gold too early yesterday, and got stopped out. Took the revenge trade, and had to hold overnight to get my money back. Busy this morning, and missed the move on cable that I'd been waiting for. It's all there for you everyday, but you have to sit in front of the screen 24/5 to get it. Weekends and bank holidays are a relief sometimes. Waiting for the planets to line up on gold again.....funny old game. | penycae
04/6/2013 13:13 | Good day Babywolf Trading going ok but have to wait for the set-ups. | bracke
03/6/2013 22:34 | Good evening Bracke & Penycae Just checking in. Still up to my eyes on the refurb. Hope its going well for you both. Night night. | babywolf
03/6/2013 11:54 | Good day Penycae Summer is here.....for the time being. Volatile markets good to trade if you get it right. | bracke
03/6/2013 10:00 | Morning all. Just got back from a walk with the hounds. Beautiful day, made even better by holding some cable and gold longs over the weekend. Gold is a hard one to call at the moment, but well worth a punt when the planets line up. It was sold off like crazy on Friday, which gave the buy signal near the close. Same with cable. Closed all sb's now. Not doing anything more until this evening. | penycae
30/5/2013 17:16 | El C - yep. Some of his stuff is AAA+ Probably comes from the fact that his Gran was Welsh. I remember her from when she used to get going down the Drum and Monkey - honest! | penycae
