Shanta received first VAT refund in 2017... The second payment should come in next few weeks or months

Become contrarian to AG is the right way to make profit 😂

jasper2712 ... my point with the VAT is the last time they had a refund was 2017 and they have managed their cash flow since with no real issues . So if it didn’t come in then they can still continue . If it did then it is a bonus . Issues like this are usually priced in by the MMs and share price restrained by virtue of the doubt . The figure still appears on audited balance sheets so they must be reasonably confident . If you do not rely on something coming in then it becomes a paper loss as far as I am concerned .

"VAT repayable stood at $25.3m at 30/6/2019 then it’s only a paper loss"

It is money they are owed. This alone would have paid off their debt! It is not a loss on paper. The way things stand at the moment it is money that has been taken without any intention of paying it back.

Hopefully they can get this slowly out of the way, while also taking advantage of the higher POG

Good summing up of the situation.

As the debt repayments had to be made the Company were prudent to hedge at the time. Just think what would have happened if they hadn't and the price went down. Doesn't bear thinking about. With the price rising the Company can reduce the hedging each quarter and get a lower overall price but still substantially higher than a few months ago.

In fact the more i think about it then its laughable. Over $16 million in depreciation this half year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Profits reported in accounts.

H1 2018 = $7.109m
H2 2018 = $0.880m
H1 2019 = MINUS $5.704m

What do you extrapolate from that?"

Well AG,that depreciation accelerated considerably in the last half year and that a provision was shown in the accounts for the hedge.

Now will depreciation be double the amount in the full year,i doubt it and will there still be a provision for the hedge ? Do we want to be showing a profit whilst trying to get a government VAT refund ?
