09/3/2010 07:28 | Classic move by Carlyle by the looks of things, what better way to cash in on the short side with a derogatory offer, then fire in a better offer at a later date. edit: perhaps through a third party Interesting the company remains in an offer period.! Far better the company turned them down than accepted IMO. | wig123
08/3/2010 13:53 | Interesting RNS, although another holding decleration, the 2.6mill purchase was in USD ! | wig123
05/3/2010 17:00 | Just pondering the possibility of one of the dissapointed bidders for Biffa making a counter bid here sparking a war ;-) CVC ,I think it was, springs to mind! | wig123
05/3/2010 16:39 | I think odds are shortening on a bid, if Carlyle were delaying to scare investors it has back fired and now they must pay up at least 140p. If they are reading this you can have mine for 145p This is a quality business, operating in a growth sector, with government backing ( = EU legislation ) and with currency gains from Netherlands operations. Shnaks would make a good consolidator for the business...... make that 150p :-) | betman
05/3/2010 16:33 | yep! could be a worth while wait for once ;-) somehow feel that the early part of next week could see some news! | wig123
05/3/2010 16:28 | Smoke and fire? Is a new hand about to be played? | broadwood
05/3/2010 16:15 | Game on it appears ;-) | wig123
05/3/2010 16:00 | If the market continues rising strongly, you'd expect the bidder would have to pay more unless he moves quickly. | broadwood
05/3/2010 15:18 | still a gamble either way, but happier in than out as they say! | wig123
05/3/2010 12:35 | Tuesdays 113p now looking like a low, gradually climbing again. Volume about 1 million a day. Canny buyers getting a good price pre bid or funds getting out before the bad news ?? Cannot see any real evidence either way of what the final result will be | betman
02/3/2010 09:47 | on the face of it, it does look like that, however investment banks and hedgies are good at manipulating prices to their advantage. Push down the price so investors are grateful to only get 128p ?? | betman
02/3/2010 09:22 | share price tell us, no more bid at all... if not bid, the share price will drop to 80-90p area.?? | milton8
02/3/2010 09:19 | a bit bored, anything going on anywhere on this ? | betman
24/2/2010 12:21 | salpara- would you care to tell us why you opened the position now, has anything chnaged for you ? There is a risk of price dropping to even 80p which is a £1200 loss. My concern is the longer it goes on, the less the probability of a bid ?? or are caryle playing a cute game of worry to flush out shareholders ?? | betman
24/2/2010 11:52 | Opened a long position at £30pp yesterday. Lets role the dice! | salpara111
22/2/2010 13:30 | Apologies if this analysis is tosh Pre bid price 90p Bid offer 135p Current price 120p Current price is 67% of potential rise from 90 to 135p, hence odds about 67% | betman
19/2/2010 16:39 | WB, always good advise to play safe, however as is always the case the news good or bad will be dropped on us when least expected. Im in quite heavy at 119, and a few at 123 so am calm at the moment. !! 135-140 would do me nice. Would probably cut n run around the £1 mark if it does go against us. have a good weekend | wig123
19/2/2010 16:29 | betman - wig123 Agree 100% now watch for any significant movement, better to hold or buy on a firm rise at this stage rather than gamble. | w.bramley
19/2/2010 12:52 | Id say the chances are a tad better, considering all the hedgies appear to be net long. Still a great company bid aside, and should not of been trading at the crazy share price seen last year and tail end 08. If I recall the Biffa saga dragged on for quite a while but t/o was done in the death. | wig123
19/2/2010 12:47 | This is now a straight forward gamble, bid goes ahead and price up to 135p, bid pulled and its doen to 80 - 90p ?? Is it 50/50 ?? I guess its 60 / 40 in favour of bid since they have opened up official talks and was commented in RNS | betman
19/2/2010 12:39 | betman, thats where the MMs are officially, no doubt they are at different levels up to the bid/offer as are the DMA boys n girls ;-) | wig123
19/2/2010 12:37 | thanks w.b , I am surprised how wide that spread is, I certainly would not want to sell at 114p or buy at 127p price is just trickling up from 117 to current 120.7 which is the right direction | betman
19/2/2010 10:48 | 9 MM have buy orders of 10k 114-116p - same MM have sell orders of 10k 124-127p Can't see anything to show any bid interest, usual dull Friday. | w.bramley |
