yey agree, these worth more than 1.50 in my eyes, i was just stating that for any buy in any share there must have been a seller, that also goes for any sale there must be a buyer.

But not in one trade Daytraders,
Over the past few weeks there as been a steady stream of sells to follow the price down to give the MM such a block of stock. IMO it is vote of confidence that such a large trade went through at that price.

Regards.

The large buy at close yesterday is not unexpected, as already announced, a bid of 135p was made, so it could be that the same bidder is picking up stock at prices around 124p. The bidder we assume must have done his research (which will have been costly but essential and made the usual financial preparations), and then made a lower bid (135p) than he really thinks SKS is worth, (as bidder's usually do when making an offer for property, etc) so I should imagine all stock on offer at today's declining prices will be snapped up, and in due course a new bid may be on the table. I consider SKS as a first rate growth company, making it a strong hold, and possibly a weak buy on further price decline.
However, one must take into consideration, that without the bid, the price was around 82/5p. One to watch KENZ (Aim)

Sometimes a massive buy can drop the price as it has removed a big buyer from the order book. Looks like this may have happened here

I assume Caryle are doing some due diligence and we will just have to wait. In the meantime does anyone have any info on the Netherlands economy, which as the biggest source of SKS revenue will be a driver of future performance

Up tomorrow me thinks !.

The total buys came in at 2,765,996 including a massive buy just after the close of 1,270,000 shares. They also paid a premium for this block of shares.

The total sells for the day were 504,057 shares

Agreed wm, very much cat & mouse. Buyer no doubt re-running his figures but waiting to see if any competitive offers appear , without which he will no doubt say -"take my offer or I walk". What will the major shareholders do then I wonder.

The share price of SHANKS is not unlike the present housing market. A cash buyer appears and makes a reasonable offer for your property, you say "no it is worth more", but the buyer doesn't increase the offer. After quite a further long period with out any interest from any other buyer plus a decline in house prices, the previous buyer repeats his offer. What would most vendors do? It is a cat & mouse game.
In the case of SHANKS an offer of 135p was there - rejected by the board, but is today trading at 124/7p, will the buyer repeat his offer? My gut feeling is, on the basis that this is an excellent company servicing an ever growing demand, that he will not leave this one, and a further bid will come in due course - time will tell.

A case of sitting and waiting.

The clever guys sold to buy in lower. I did not think the share price would fall below 130p, i live and learn.

What I have found in the past is that the last day of trading before the New Year End and the first day of the new trading year after New Year are two of the main days of the year for take over activity/Bids/News.

Must admit I can't understand why the Directors have named their price.

Sound as though they're only interested in a short term money grab rather than a long term capital growth story.

Very strange tactics.

I'm On nights .... just out of bed.

Looking good craigy,

I am the first to take a profit, too soon in most cases, but there was no chance this deal was going to ebb away ! IMO. £1.50 'as good as' in the bank.
