05/6/2009 11:12 | thx for explanation, so if i was just interested in the ordinary share offer at 45p i am correct ?, and the ticker SKS should open at 72-3p, so am i still entitled to these NP rights then ?, and are you not taking up the 45p offer, if you are not you should really sale before close tonight correct ? cheers | daytraders
05/6/2009 09:52 | im actually confused now m8, lets come here monday evening to see what close price was ok, then were type what we think open will be tuesday 8am ok, i just thought come tuesday 8am we will have the option to buy 2 shares at 45p for every 3 we have, and the mm's will adjust the opening price, so is NP rights different to buying the 45p shares then ? thats what confuses me, but either way i still think if share price closes monday at 91.5p it will open at around 72p. | daytraders
05/6/2009 08:54 | tbh im not sure what that means, if we all buy the 45p shares that were allocated, to make it all even the share price should open at 72-3p, if opens at like anything less were out of pocket, and if opens at like 27p we have all lost 60% of our money, so i cant see how that is right m8 | daytraders
05/6/2009 08:48 | Daytraders Yes you are correct on the price the ordinary should trade at, but my estimate is for the Nil paid rights. | w.bramley
05/6/2009 08:36 | i think i got it right m8, all there doing is giving the market extra 2 for 3 shares at 45p, so my calculation should be spot on. | daytraders
05/6/2009 08:16 | Daytraders I think you have not taken off the 45p call from 72-3p making a NP price of 27p. Of course if one buys the NP rights you will have to pay the call on the 23 June. | w.bramley
05/6/2009 08:07 | no if price is 91.5p as a example, so everything being equal the new trading price will be 72.9 pence. ie (91.5x3) + (45x2) divided by 5. dont quote me on that thou. | daytraders
05/6/2009 08:03 | If I am correct with the date, I estimate that if SKS closes on Monday at around 90-92p on Tues 9th the NP rights should trade at 25-27p. | w.bramley
04/6/2009 20:35 | w.bramley every share out there got brought down in the market crash, most alot worse than shanks, its had a nice rise, and now with this massive contract there should be no stopping it now, just wait till the news gets around, rns out at 3.20pm not a great time really, so hopefully tommorow the news should get around. | daytraders
04/6/2009 14:37 | Shanks signs GBP720 million PPP contract with Cumbria County Council awsome news. | daytraders
22/5/2009 12:05 | Good stock and future looks good, however one should not overlook the price a short time ago when it traded around the 50p mark. Will there be a demand for the rights at 45p ??? Investor confidence at such a low level. | w.bramley
21/5/2009 13:23 | ikn I did my calculation on adjusted eps 7.2p and adjusted dividend of 2.88p ( 2.5x covered)sp 95p pre rights and 75p ex rights - all based on unadjusted consensus earnings of circa 12p for 2009/10. AO | a0148009
21/5/2009 12:32 | Looking at a 2 year horizon: Sales: Flat Margins: Some improvement 2year target price(ex rights) of 110p If metal prices recover then should boost earnings further. I think management have learnt some lessons about growth. Not to diversify too much, build on core with selective investments in current assets and new acquisitions...while managing debt. | ikn
21/5/2009 11:02 | Crunching some numbers ex rights I reckon these to be on a p/e circa 10x and yield of 3.85 for year 2009/2010. Any other ideas? AO | a0148009
