25/8/2018 18:29 | edited - agree Mitch's voice sounds British despite his American sounding name! | bountyhunter
25/8/2018 18:20 | From my understanding they are in advanced talks. With basically the UK government and BP/SQZ asking what would be acceptable to the OFAC. I had contacted Mitch Flegg again. He has assured me as soon as there are meaningful developments there would be a RNS. My impression was news is imminent. FWIW he sounded positive, as we all know from previous RNS and interviews. Certainly we shud get news soon as the existing waiver has 4/5 weeks left! | general george
25/8/2018 18:16 | They were already in "advanced discussions" a while ago so they would have applied some time ago. I remember they applied for the licence months ago and there's not much point in discussing a waiver if that has not also been applied for. | bountyhunter
25/8/2018 18:06 | I was thinking the same earlier but from the other perspective. They must have applied ages ago but it hasn't been rejected our of hand. | smokieuk
25/8/2018 15:13 | Well last time it seems to have been issued on 29th September and applied for on 28th September. | fardels bear
25/8/2018 15:05 | I assume application was made quite some time ago. The US are not exactly rushing to grant it .Are we going to have to wait until Sep30 to learn one way or other from them. I wonder what the normal time line is for such things. | pineapple1
25/8/2018 14:50 | When we get the waiver I think we should all eat pizza to celebrate! | bountyhunter
25/8/2018 14:11 | The US are targeting Iranian oil sales. These are around 4million bopd. At $65 thats around...260m a day in revenue! Ioc share of Rhum at call it 200-250m revenue a year is totally insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I think UK Plc do Whatever it takes to secure a waiver, escrow if needed. The revenue is so small for one. Another is it is gas. Which was the basis of the BP pipeline waiver/southern gas corridor. I look forward to an update. Btw. My dinner was meatballs, bolognese sauce and creamy polenta. Lol | general george
25/8/2018 11:17 | This is interesting and could perhaps apply to BP/Serica re Rhum at least to further strengthen the case for a waiver. "We are determined to protect European economic operators engaged in legitimate business with Iran,” said High Representative Federica Mogherini and E3 foreign ministers, Jean-Yves Le Drian (France), Heiko Maas (Germany) and Jeremy Hunt (UK) in a joint statement. That is why the EU has included the restrictive measures in its ‘blocking statute’ which will enter into force at 6 am on Tuesday (7 August). This mechanism bans Europeans – both companies and residents- from complying with US sanctions." ... "The ‘blocking statute’ also allows EU economic operators to recover damages that might result from those sanctions, from the entities causing them. This can be either the US administration or a third party. Companies will have to sue the alleged responsible for the damages and a judge will in any case decide." | bountyhunter
25/8/2018 11:02 | Three prams, three teddies and a lot of very stupid men who should get round a table rather than fire ranging shots. After all, once the teddies are on the floor somebody sensible needs to be found to pick them all up again. | fardels bear

24/8/2018 22:31 | Patience is not the ability to wait, but how you act while you're waiting.Simon Stevin load capacity is 33.5 tonnes of rock. Considered to be the largest vessel of her kind in the world. Wonder how many tonnes she's dropping and how many trips needed ? Oh and a not so healthy roll with chilli hot dog for me. | circles of stone

24/8/2018 18:42 | Gammon, egg and chips. I found a huge unsmoked gammon in Waitrose reduced to seven quid from sixteen. I cut it into nine steaks. Superb. | fardels bear
