Errrm, jumped the gun a bit..... Could get a slap... When the production reaches the Shearwater platform facilities, it will be separated into gas and liquids and exported via the SEGAL line to St Fergus

Worth noting that they mention the BKR deal in this latest RNS, under notes to Editors...

and completion of acquisition is expected to take place late in the third quarter of 2018.

They wouldn't have put it in unless they were confident...?

Good find steelwatch that would explain the sustained buying of equi-amounts this morning. Anything positive from the agm should see us return to mid-60 levels until the Iran issue is resolved imo.

From the Energy Voice link in the brief Press & Journal item:

Serica applies to develop Columbus field
Written by Mark Lammey - 20/06/2018 7:08 am

Serica Energy has taken another step in its quest to develop the Columbus field in the central North Sea.

The London-headquartered firm had been deciding whether to connect the field to Shell’s Shearwater platform or Chrysaor’s Lomond rig.

In April the company opted for the Shearwater route, citing a “clear commercial advantage”.

Columbus will be connected to a proposed pipeline between the nearby Arran field and Shearwater.

Today, Serica submitted a letter of application to give the Oil and Gas Authority “preliminary notification” of its proposals.

The application is supported by an environmental statement.

The public consultation will run for a month.

The field is thought to be capable of producing 12.6 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Production start-up is slated for the first half of 2021.

The Columbus subsea infrastructure will have a design life of at least 15 years and the economic field life is expected to be up to 14 years.

Serica, as operator, has a 50% stake in Columbus, Endeavour Energy has 25% and EOG Resources has 25%.

Way I see it we're not importing oil from Iran.. One, it's gas, and two, it's British gas.. I'll rephrase that...

...at least the IOC's 50% share of Rhum is NS gas as opposed to importing oil from Iran; even so a repeat of the escrow option may provide the best solution?

The United States is pushing countries to halt imports of Iranian oil from November, a senior State Department official said on Tuesday, and it will not grant any waivers to sanctions, a hardline position the Trump administration says is meant to cut off funding to Iran.

Lets hope they don't take such a tough line with Rhum.
Still can't see the sanctions preventing the deal completing. A workaround will be worked out.
A delay is all i see as a possibility as the US sanctions have made the destination a winding road rather than a journey straight ahead.
imho
