Market report
Oil prices received a boost from worries over a steep drop in exports from crisis-plagued Venezuela, which faces the threat of U.S. sanctions.

U.S. crude rose $1.22 to settle at $65.95 a barrel, while Brent gained $1.96 to settle at $77.32.

I think if you read the history Rhum 3 did indeed got shut down , but the british government intervened and they opened it putting IOC money in Escrow, But i think if the deal doesnt get done BP will close it down again and then The british government will intervene then the deal will go through, how long this will take i dont know.

Agreed, and we will have AGM at end of month and TCW generally reads a statement

which hopefully may contain up to date information how the deal is going.

if the field is closed down because of sanctions 5% of U.K. gas production is
lost and we will probably have to buy that amount from Russian thats how clever
these sanctions would be so perhaps they could think twice.

fanshawyou forgot the us sanctions risk and aging infrastructureif the former blows the deal share price goes to 25p, if not it goes to 90p and beyond..plenty of bets available in the mkt, sqz no longer the bargain it was last august at 21pgiven the discount to 90p it suggests a decent chance the deal wont go through, even though it is regarded as minor technicality by many(no position)

"Preparations for a well on the Rowallan prospect in the second half of 2018 are progressing to plan with a site survey completed last December and tendering for a rig underway".

Steel I thought they had already done the site survey, it's the rig we need now and please not the Blackford Dolphin.

Sanctions would encourage BP to speed up the process of selling the asset as they have worldwide assets and being exposed to usa sanctions and Serica does not

BKR should generate lots of cash but best to factor in some cost for operating the BKR assets our share might be as much as 500k a week?

The fact he's imposed tariffs on his allies for steel and aluminium means he doesn't regard anybody as an ally, until he wants something, IMHO.

I don't think that there's any reason for it not to go through even if the renewal doesn't get issued in September. I think that's what I was saying before.

I don't think so either fb. Anyway, the license expires on 30th September so should have an answer well before then. Until then there's no good reason to believe the deal won't go through.
