29/10/2019 10:56 | Morning Fez. I'm sure you'll be fine with those. Good management at SYNT. | philanderer
28/10/2019 20:53 | Actually I just picked some up today so I hope it will be fragrant in the future! | fez77
28/10/2019 09:53 | Fez, SYNT is stinking the place out at the moment. | philanderer
25/10/2019 19:51 | I'm hoping when the Boeing issues are sorted this will recover... they hoping to resume flights by end of year? | carpingtris
25/10/2019 19:30 | Well Phil, is SYNT a better buy? | fez77
25/10/2019 00:28 | EI, still not convinced yet, but remains on the watchlist. Gradully going into more cash. | philanderer
24/10/2019 22:46 | Hmm.. I'll have a look at BOY - they seem to tick a lot of boxes - but I see I've missed the divi on that one. SNR is ex div 31 Oct but the amount is nothing to shout about! | fez77
24/10/2019 12:48 | Phil, a few nice trades recently however I've badly read markets over the last few months. Expecting a correction that never really came. I'm only about 30% Invested atm which is ridiculously low and pretty painful tbh. | essentialinvestor
24/10/2019 10:45 | Fez, no. Added a small amount of Bodycote this morning, monitoring SNR. SNR gives a more concentrated play on aerospace than BOY. | essentialinvestor
23/10/2019 21:18 | Slowly ticking up. Did you take the plunge Essential? | fez77
18/10/2019 13:53 | Hi Phil, I'm tempted to be fair. Is this stock specific or the MCX perking up this week I wonder ?. | essentialinvestor
18/10/2019 10:17 | May have turned ? | philanderer
16/10/2019 13:03 | So this is breaking down further atm, can anyone give a TA view ? Thanks. Have it on a watch list. The CEO has a modest holding here if I'm reading it correctly, Prefer more skin in the game. | essentialinvestor
15/10/2019 16:16 | Phil, doubled up on my small Bodycote holding at 6.42 just fwiw. | essentialinvestor
15/10/2019 14:06 | Phil, how Renishaw sells on the multiple it does is beyond me. Perhaps a take over target at some point. Some fat sector falls today, as Senior is unmoved perhaps nearing a low?. | essentialinvestor
15/10/2019 14:00 | Yesterday's note: Peel Hunt upgrades Senior after shares halve Peel Hunt has upgraded engineering group Senior (SNR) as despite current issues in its aerospace division, the arm is expected to be a ‘major growth driver’ in the future. Analyst Dominic Convey upgraded his recommendation from ‘hold’ to ‘buy’ but reduced the target price from 230p to 215p. The shares were trading at 175.9p yesterday and have nearly halved over the last year. ‘With the 737 Max now unlikely to return to flight in 2019, we have cut our full-year 2020 aerospace sales growth and margin assumptions further, and now expect a modest earnings per share decline next year,’ he said. Convey said the shares have ‘virtually halved’ from their Q3 2018 high and while his assumptions for the 737 Max may ‘still be too optimistic, we do expect it to be a major growth driver over the medium term, and envisage a strong rebound in earnings in full year 2021’. | philanderer
14/10/2019 12:34 | Yes MRO has good management and would be solid over the long term for sure. I've got BOY on the watchlist but don't fancy it at the moment. Tempted to put the little toe in here :-) | philanderer
14/10/2019 12:13 | Hi Phil, it's unfortunate timing, they increased CAPEX to meet the expected extra demand and the MAX fatalities struck. There is a chunk of debt here but that looks manageable. Might prefer Bodycote tbh, which is debt free, but that has exposure to the car and light truck market which is very weak atm. I notice the CFO's other half bought recently, a fair chunk as well. Their share price is very volatile though. Think MRO offers some very nice longer term upside fwiw, better to get some on a bad day though. | essentialinvestor
14/10/2019 11:52 | Morning EI. Still got it on the watchlist. I'm just wondering if all the bad news is priced in. All depends on this 737 exposure. Very difficult to find much information. Senior should have a trading statement out in about six weeks. Still only really got this Barclays note to go by from a few months ago.. "..Barclays does, however, expect Senior’s Max production to fall to a Boeing/ Spirit blended rate of 47 planes per month shortly, which will dent sales this year and next. As a result, the chin scratchers have cut their sales forecasts for 2019 and 2020 by £8mln and £35mln, respectively. They have also lowered their 2020 Aerospace margin target due to overhead cost absorption. “We expect this to be the fourth consecutive year Senior has failed to deliver late-cycle, material Aerospace margin progression–a long-standing bear point. “On our revised numbers, we are 180bps below the FY21 margin target of 13-14% which now appears unachievable, in our view.” | philanderer
14/10/2019 11:17 | Hi Phil, any view here? Thanks. | essentialinvestor
14/10/2019 11:01 | PEEL HUNT RAISES SENIOR TO 'BUY' ('HOLD') | philanderer
27/8/2019 16:53 | Is there speculation? Not seen anything.. | carpingtris
27/8/2019 15:13 | This has held up better than I would have expected, wonder if this is because of bid speculation?. | essentialinvestor
27/8/2019 10:40 | JPMORGAN RAISES SENIOR PRICE TARGET TO 230 (220) PENCE - 'NEUTRAL' | philanderer
