28/5/2021 15:39 | Opportunist bid. Much too low. Much more to come as the airline industry and society recovers from covid. Was 184p in 2011, bargain then at that price. | lindowcross
28/5/2021 15:32 | Well that came out of the Blue :) | grity

28/5/2021 15:03 | bloody lovely!!!!!!!!!! | essentialinvestor
28/5/2021 14:48 | 176, probably up that another 5-10% hopefully. Seen as it's the third proposal it does seem they are keen. They do sometimes walk away. | dave894
28/5/2021 11:03 | Nice turn around in the last week. | camlor2
27/5/2021 15:25 | Think you need to expect continued volatility given COVID, particularly with the Indian variant atm. If vaccines remain effective in preventing the vast majority of COVID cases then the 2/3 year outlook improves dramatically. | essentialinvestor
27/5/2021 15:16 | ready to break out? | castleford tiger
27/5/2021 13:02 | Airbus news I assume | robertball

05/5/2021 14:11 | Senior has been a cracking recovery play during past cycles, although they were without a global pandemic. I've known SNR since the Flexonics acquisition rights issue, which was circa 1992/3 - from memory. Worth keeping in mind the share price is up over 100% from last year's plunge low, so there is likely a consolidation phase needed. Some of the earlier buyers may also be locking in gains. The big risk is vaccine failure against Covid-19, which would also apply to multiple other sectors!. Fortunately that does not appear to be happening atm. | essentialinvestor
04/5/2021 18:57 | likewise added another 20k | castleford tiger

17/4/2021 09:55 | @2948, ah that's interesting about the FCF, and I note they recently sold Senior Aerospace Connecticut, a stand alone, build-to-print helicopter structures operating business to PCX Aerosystems, LLC. for $74m £53m. Further they have controlled costs through the pandemic, so they must be in a reasonable liquid state at the moment despite the hit from the crisis. I recall reading at the end of the 2009/10 financial crisis some journalist's opinion that UK engineers including Senior were undervalued and "discounting armageddon", this partially helped trigger my first purchase at 1.84 in 2011. Now here we are a decade on with concomitant inflation to take into account, development of the business, minimal dilution and the price is £1.20 | lindowcross
16/4/2021 09:35 | I've not held in recent years, up or down, but I recall looking at their free cash flow over 2009-17 and seeing it barely change, all the while the reported profits did, and the share price did. Looking at the most recent set of results just before the pandemic (not fair to look at later stuff until things return to 'normal'), I see they have kept this incredible record of FCF c£50m-£60m going - yet the share price gyrates wildly. It's a quite astonishing sustained picture - the disconnect between free cash flow, earnings per share and the share price. Murky, imho... | imastu pidgitaswell
16/4/2021 09:25 | I bought these at 1.84 in July 2011 judging them to be a bargain at that price. I've held the stock ever since, with some buys and sells up to 2018 when I bought again in November 2018 at 2.55 on what I regarded at the time as a "dip". Since then I've bought 11 times and sold once. Lowest purchase price was 49p. There doesn't seem to have been much dilution of this stock over the years. I regard current price of around £1.20 as an excellent entry price for this quality engineering firm. | lindowcross
24/3/2021 21:17 | Tiger - is there anything specific about Mr King that makes you want to follow him, or do you just follow directors dealings as a rule? | firtashia |
