This share has a triple weighting in my folio, as I believe it is likely to pop back to test previous levels. Then I will probably cut back a bit to normalise. I think LO are also convinced that this is the case. But unlike the general market which has benefited from the Boris bounce, this is a bit more news specific. I'm content to hold in that expectation, as with several other such shares, including EDEN and SCE.

I agree & the fact that they issue an RNS about contracts which are not financially material ( although I appreciate that the Bison contract was more about our re entering the US market with all of the potential offered there), you would expect hem to issue an RNS about more significant contracts & the lack of news suggests that business is currently expanding steadily due to increased Fleet connections ( & off road is hopefully continuing to do well)but little else new of significance is ocurring financially.
We need contract news & specifically the now long awaited "imminent" Aviation Licensing deal/deals.PM probably regrets his early enthusiasm & optimism in this respect & perhaps pat Nolan advised him that the deals were imminent, but the first half is drawing to a close & we want the early January trading statement to be positive based on factual performance & expectation ,preferably ahead of target ( which now seems less likely) but certainly not below target (which surely see our share price move lower)
I remain optimistic but we are all starved of the positive news that we hoped would have started arriving after the very positive CMD

When did we last see an RNS confirming a win of any real substance for this company? Warm comforting noises from management from time to time of great things in the pipeline are all well and good-but the absence of any positive major contracts is a major concern.

Stats re Fleet continue to grow healthily on a daily basis but it would be great to receive tangible contract/license news this month to give confidence that our increased projections for FY20 will be met (or exceeded). We do not want a Jam tomorrow half year update early next month

They have a vast fleet & if they want to offer the best quality DMS on the market they would possibly prefer a licence & arrange their own installation ,which we would struggle with ,even if 5% of their Fleet signed up .Presume any vehicles joining the SEE family would be signed up for our monitoring services which would be extremely profitable .In itself a deal with them could be transformational .

It is possible but this seems different to the NTI insurance tie up in Aus where fleet owners get an insurance discount for having Guardian installed. The NTI set up is a no brainer. Im not convinced this Geotab is it.Having said that Geotab have won the exclusive contract for all of the state of California to supply all local government fleets, so Geotab could be a good outlet for us.https://www.geotab.com/press-release/california-contract-win/

Investors express annoyance with Seeing Machines - 28th November 2019

Following my last blog, institutional investors have fired a shot across the boughs of management by voting against the remuneration package of CEO Paul McGlone.

Approximately 31% of votes cast were against his ‘Termination Benefits’ package, which had rather soft targets. Still, if good news isn’t forthcoming in the very near future I think he may be glad to have got them in the bag.

In my experience if several IIs are prepared to publicly vote against such a package, many more would have been annoyed by the CEO getting a bonus before delivering the goods.

Fleet fixed

Speaking of deliveries, I firmly believe that fleet is fixed and upwards of 20,000 Guardian units have been installed worldwide. However, the company insists on not releasing this material information to all investors – though it was inadvertently leaked by a distributor in Chile.

Instead, like a tired politician, they are chanting the mantra of “Let’s get the interims done,” while bandying about a 16k figure that is 5 months old, as if it has any meaning.

Worse, the information on the distributor’s website has been doctored in a rather rough and ready way. It now reads (in translation): “Guardian saves lives in more than 24 countries in the world, monitoring more than 20,000 vehicles in mining and commercial fleet vehicles.”

So all of a sudden we’re supposed to believe no new Guardian units have been installed in 5 months? Also that fleet and CAT are no longer split? It’s the worse cover up since Boris Johnson insisted that the NHS is safe in his hands.

I appreciate management want to surprise investors with good news but if price sensitive it needs to come out in a timely manner. How about a pre-Xmas trading update? Consider it a stocking filler to your long-suffering investors – who’ve just awarded the CEO the biggest present of his life.

As an aside, it’s worth remembering that institutional investors, being a little old fashioned, really do value integrity and openness. For example, they’d be annoyed if the company held back news on say, a new Tier 1 distributor, if it was deemed material.

The writer still hold shares in Seeing Machines.

It seems that leaseplan have partnered with Geotab and it probably was Geotab who co-wrote the web blog that was posted on the leaseplan site.

The good thing from that is that Geotab have proactively mentioned SEE amongst all the things they could have mentioned.

I don't see this as a new supplier of Guardian - its rather more a Geotab connection.

Having said that - it's a good connection with a large supplier.

Leaseplan USAToday 13:30

Here's hoping that they are pushing Guardian to be in some of the 1.9m vehicles they look after in 30 countries!!

"The ability to measure and track nearly every asset a worker interacts with is a boon for sure,
but what may prove even more advantageous is the ability to detect driver habits that contribute to accidents and overall poor performance. The Guardian by Seeing Machines is a highly advanced real-time accident prevention technology, using sophisticated eye and face tracking software to detect driver fatigue and distraction. This device can provide immediate intervention through in-cab audio and vibration alerts to the driver. The system also provides fleet managers with daily and weekly reports along with notifications when drivers are at risk."

'With a total fleet of 1.55 million vehicles, LeasePlan is the world's largest lease company.'

''LeasePlan's official new 100% shareholder is LP Group B.V., which represents a consortium composed of pension funds from the Netherlands (PGGM) and Denmark (ATP), GIC, investment funds managed by TDR Capital LLP, and Luxvina S.A., a 100% subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). That termination package aligns PM with a lowish offer for the company. In the event that Lombard are accumulating for a client and that clents makes a move for SEE in 2020, Paul gets most or all of his 5 yr targets bonuses and he leaves with a fat juicy cheque. The II's can see his motivation and there is little reasoning for such a terribly low set of "targets". 31% against his termination package is a big vote against his leadership style. Have a look at Nick, Pat and to a lesser extent Kens body language in each of the Proactive videos from 2019, Paul upright and dominant, Nick, Pat and Ken all leaning away.

He could hit his targets sooner if he does what he says he will. Too much talk and no action for years thats why the vote of diminished confidence is there.

RE AGM results...
Paul had 30% voted against his termination package (which includes. That's not a good percentage - however the targets set for his share options are complete tosh - he could hit his 5 year target (14.9p) by next spring/summer. (or sooner)

EU legislation signed yesterday. So all new cars vans etc must have dms in 2024.Won't make much difference now but OEMs have to forward plan for it.EuroNcap 5 star ratings will come in 2022 so all the legislative work is in place.
