03/5/2017 10:16 | My understanding is that any production testing of the gas (or the oil as well, if found) would only commence after the drilling has finished and the rig has been removed off site. Given that an announcement regarding "oil or no oil" would be made when drilling has finished and the rig is moved, we will hear of it before any production testing of the gas has commenced. I seem to recall that it was going to take about 2 weeks to do the gas flow tests after the rig is gone. I can't remember if it was in one of PW's interviews ?? Maybe someone else on here knows ?? I'm slightly on the optimistic side that the longer it takes to announce about the oil, the better the chances. However, it may be there have just been a few technical glitches with the drill and it's been delayed by a few days. But I've had a few dusters on AIM oilers over the years and bad news comes quick - I would have been more concerned if there was a RNS about the oil last week !! | skippy176
03/5/2017 10:16 | I feel that if this had been a dusty we would have know now Top man in his rocking chair in interview looked pretty smug to me | tom111
03/5/2017 10:03 | slepy, True, lets wait for a company update. Fingers crossed. Cash | cashandcard
03/5/2017 10:01 | Only because they haven't announced a duster yet doesn't mean they have hit oil. There are plenty of technical reasons why a well drilling time can be extended and still be a duster. Aminex's old drills are a good example of this. | slepy
03/5/2017 09:54 | Today is day 44 of the drill program that was announced on 20th March.Watch this space. News on Oil in next day or two. If they had mechanical failure they would have reported by now imo | rapiddave
03/5/2017 09:52 | Agreed - may be just wishful thinking but I believe we are heading for a positive result here.... | deltrotter
03/5/2017 09:43 | Will sdx be stupid wasting time on deeper horizons if they were dusters when they could be testing the gas? The odds slightly go in our favour of a oil strike, judging by the time its taking to drill the remaining 2500ft. If nothing was their they would have drilled through it by now... Still expecting news this week.. Imho :-) | neo26

03/5/2017 08:26 | And this is a good board well run by someuwin, with very little aggro. Let's hope it stays that way. Welcome back :) | captain james t kirk
03/5/2017 08:22 | Capt JTK, Indeed !! I swore off AIM bulletin boards many years ago (too many swivel-eyed lunatics, the delusional, the rampers, the shorters etc). However, I have been lurking and reading all this time. Originally only got into SDX because my bank balance very fondly remembered PW and CHAR all those years ago. It made me look at bit more closely at his present company and I liked what I saw. Good luck to everyone here. This is a cracking little company with excellent prospects. | skippy176

03/5/2017 07:22 | Mesquida, Some would say "yes" because if the deeper oil drills were dusters, they would have have reached target depth, found nothing and announced it by now. The other side of the coin is that there may be other reasons for a slight delay (trouble with the drill etc) that we don't know about. PW stated on Tuesday 18th April that they should have drilled and logged in 2 weeks so it is only 1 day overdue by his statement. See PW's interview on 18th April about the comment regarding the 2 week time frame (at about 2mins 30 secs into the interview) Who knows. We will all have to wait and see. It would be good to have the oil, but I am happy to hold long term on the gas find alone along with the extras to come (Morocco etc). Good luck ! | skippy176
03/5/2017 07:09 | No RNS this morning. Is this a good sign? | mesquida

02/5/2017 16:09 | Update should be next day or so. Regardless of Oil there is Gas that can be put into production quicklyMeseda workovers targeting doubling of production and tripping of reservesThe current cash build story is extremely attractive. When these efficiencies and new production come online profitability will increase significantly further | rapiddave

02/5/2017 14:04 | Malcy on SDX SDX EnergyA Morocco update today from SDX, with so much exciting news from Egypt it is easy to forget that particularly since the Circle deal SDX has significant exposure to exciting production and exploration in country. The Lalla Mimounia Nord and Sud permits have been extended to March 2018 with drilling on two exploration wells planned for 2H 2017. At Sebou several extensions for production and exploration have been granted over the next eight years with a number of wells planned this year which, if successful are close to pipeline infrastructure. Overall these developments provide significant potential to increase both production and reserves with plenty of exploration upside. Things at SDX are still going from strength to strength. | tidy 2
