itcf - the next set of results are likely to be oil (Rabul), later this week or next. Ultimately it's all about cash generation and the annual results will be out in about 20 days.

Egypt's forex reserves hit record high in February

CAIRO, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's foreign exchange reserves exceeded 42.5 billion U.S. dollars by the end of February, the highest in the country's modern history, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said in a statement on Sunday.....

"The forex rise is a good step that gives confidence in the Egyptian economy, helps it face pressures, and reassures the world economic community about its abilities," the expert noted.

Egypt's foreign debts rose to 81 billion dollars, according to a statement from Finance Minister Amr al-Garhy in mid-January.

A CBE official said in January that Egypt paid off about 30 billion dollars of financial dues and foreign debts in 2017 and the country commits itself to paying back more than 12 billion dollars in 2018.

Positive Level 2 of 4 v 1 at spread 44 v 45p
Oil price is also rising since late Friday

SDX say that they've not really had a big problem with receivables, but they inherited a chunk from Circle. The current claim is that they'll clear it by the end of 2018 (but they had said that about 2017).

But it's a double-edged sword, if the Egyptian govt have problems paying, then the financially weaker firms become distressed sellers and you get the chance to grab a bargain.

Maybe a quid pro quo , postpone oil , concentrate on gas in exchange for prompt payment of money owed

shakey, looking across some RNSs, I think you are right. So the two other wells are appraisal wells for the SD1-X gas discovery and the oil will have to wait for 2019.

Makes sense.

Helps explain why PW prefers to communicate via youtube rather than RNS.

Remember he's talking about one of the 2 development wells and not Ibn Yunus or Kelvin (which we know are going for gas). It's a 4 drill programme.

I was operating under the understanding that Egyptian government had forbade SDX from targeting the oil in a drill for gas. I.E. they have to formally target the oil in a drill and the oil only.

Ifthecapfits, if you watch the following video at around the 5 min mark you'll see PW talking about the forthcoming drilling at Ibn Yunus and Kelvin - they are going for gas there AIUI.



But

He also refers to 2 development wells and what I understand from the video is that one of them is going for the oil.

MM's messing about again on this stock - looks like the buy price has now gone back to normal, and I expect the share price to react positively now.
