Great time to hear the cash register ring again. Cashed in a bit more whilst trailing the entire position at a much higher price than last. This is +60% from my entry price in very few weeks which does not happen every single time we play the game. Still in with 4/10 of my original stake though.

Encouraging to see an NED transferring into his ISA enough SDI shares to almost cover his entire annual contribution:

Mind you, his broker didn't do him any favours with a 102.5p-107p spread :o))

Excellent results - overall revenue increased 23% to £14.13m, including 7.7% organic growth.

Duke featured in today's Investor's Champion update.

Cheers hastings, excellent summary as always.

Finncap's forecast seems, erm, VERY conservative, with only 2p EPS needed for H2 after 2.47p EPS in H1. It's saying that there won't be any growth in the group at all, even with the return of business to those companies affected by COVID in H1, and that the return of Atik's OEM sales, plus the earning-enhancing Monmouth acquisition, won't have any effect on profits, even with Atik's COVID contract continuing into well into H2.

I have no doubt that Finncap will have been guided conservatively by SDI's excellent and prudent management team. Investors can draw their own conclusions.

Great action. That's what one wants - fundamentals being in sync with Mr Market (because if they're not one never makes any money). Enjoy the rise folks. With the update out of the way the sky is blue for the next few days and weeks (caveat - bar a major pullback in wider markets of course).

Rivaldo, I'd better check again then. I have a note that it's much higher in H1.

...yes, you're right. Below are raw figures:

FY 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020
Reported EPS 1.15 1.14 1.79 2.05 2.56
Interims 0.04 0.64 0.98 1.12 1.37
%H1 3% 56% 55% 55% 54%

So, even with more acquisitions by H2 usually, H1 has delivered more, but not significantly at all, so I guess your 5p seems far closer than my 3.5p.

That revises my value for SDI to over 150p. It's still a worthwhile buy at this price then.

There's an InvestorMeet company presentation at 4.30 on Thursday for anyone interested - usually well worth listening to:

Ymaheru, I don't remember there being any great seasonality to SDI's business and would be surprised if there was anything material as such? Difficult to pick through given all the acquisition activity, but happy to be proven wrong.

Yes, strong results.

Rivaldo, SDI get most their profit H1, but it’s higher than my estimates. I was hoping 3.2p for year after Monmouth, so working on 3.5p now.

As people point out, it’s a good long term hold. I’ll probably accumulate on any dips.

Good update and more important than that is Mr Market's take. Seems he did a good job anticipating the latest and now he's holding up well. Open to all trading contingencies of course but so far so good on the long side. Happy to be in. Good luck chaps.

These are terrific results - that's 2.47p EPS in H1 alone. So simplistically doubling up for the year gives around 5p EPS, with further upside from this month's earnings-enhancing acquisition of Monmouth Scientific.

Which leaves the current share price looks pretty good value.

Excellent cash generation, with net debt down to almost nothing prior to the acquisition, and SDI confirm they hope to make at least one more acquisition next year.

I note the Astek COVID-19 ventilator contract will continue to benefit H2, which will then additionally benefit from Atik's core business returning. Great to see Synoptics doing well too.

Can't ask for more, especially in such a pandemic-affected period.

Good seeing you on this board as well OH. Am sure you have enjoyed the rise so long that may continue. No - I do not think the party is over at all (you know my trading philosophy makes a clear distinction between underlying business and related share price performance) but we are a bit (not a lot that's for sure) overstretched in 1-5 day timeframes. Hence my scaling out. Still in though with the remainder which is still significant for me. Good luck pal. Arregius - that's exactly what I am doing but if you had known my philosophy, you would be aware that reward/risk is inversely correlated with price moving in one's favour. Big topic outside the scope of this board. Enjoy the rise.

That's why it pays to hear the cash register ring frequently as trees grow to the sky. Cashed in a bit more out of my original stake (+45% from initiation) and still have 1/2 of it in the running.
