25k trade @ 70p reported after the close should set us up nicely for the morning, particularly as stock availability was tight all day today.

In case anyone missed the RNS last week, SDI's AGM is to be on 23rd September, and there will be a live presentation and Q&A via InvestorMeet - so register because they're really good!

For future accurate numbers take your pick from the following 3:- Reading tea leaves.-Tarot card predictions.- Follow Hastings on ADVFN.

Yeah - I prefer accurate future numbers too, just haven't worked out where to get them.

It's good to a point, but is skewed to historical numbers etc and doesn't take into account significant strategic changes that may have taken place.I'm sure it would have had plenty of red flags on SDI back in the 8p, days just as the story was beginning!

FB - got any examples of inaccurate data?
Their data has always struck me as being excellent.
(Today's outage isn't planned, and they're looking to get back asap).

The more I use Stocko the less accurate the data feels.

That they are doing essential maintenance which will take "several hours" during one of the most important hours of the day is shocking. This should have been scheduled for 2300-0500 GMT.

Just had a look, looks to be rogue. Stockopedia suggest it's Mark Brewer at FinnCap with a strong sell rating.

If you actually look at Mark Brewer's last SDI note 21/07/20 (when price was 54.5p) he had a target price of 100p (83% upside) - doesn't feel too negative!

No sure why but Stockopedia are recommending a 'strong sell' not sure why. Anyone got any views on this.

John Rosier of IC has SDI in his portfolio, he commented that full year results were "reassuring", with the outlook statement "positive, with the group expected to make further value-enhancing acquisitions during the coming year"

Sdi is an awesome compounding machine to have in the portfolio and dont touch it. Buy at this point and roll out. Forget

Picked up £k worth @62p to join the party. Looks one which will still grow in a post COVID recessionary world. Originally held in an Octopus EIS fund, but they sold too early - now reinvested a bit.

With the market spread 60-62, it was nice to see the 6k buy just go through at a premium 62.5, especially at this point on the chart which looks potential breakout territory. Unsurprisingly no buy quotes available for quantity @ 62p currently. IMHO DYOR etc

Life science/biotech/pharma companies globally have used the pandemic to raise hundreds of millions of pounds (perhaps even £billions).

Whatever the short-term effects of COVID-19, it seems to me that this large part of SDI's business in terms of supplies of equipment and consumables to labs and that sector in general is now likely to be booming for some time to come.

Just a random thought really - any other views welcome!

New feature on Atik Cameras' usage in testing for COVID-19:

Conclusion:

"We now have thousands of cameras installed in diagnostic machines around the world, with these machines themselves undertaking thousands of tests per day. However, this merely scratches the surface of what our cameras can do in OEM applications, for more information about what our cameras can do for you please get in touch, and be sure to subscribe to our OEM newsletter to be the first to learn about our events, white papers, and cameras."

And more news re development of a new camera to be for sale by the end of the year:

Techinvest had an introductory feature on SDI in this month's issue, in the "Market Miscellany" column.

Above all, they conclude that SDI are a Buy - and that they will "write more next month".

There's nothing that's new to long-term holders here. But they note that SDI are well positioned to benefit from "the global expansion of automation and in-process instruments, as well as medical and pharmaceutical research". And that they like buy and build models like SDI's, which offers strong potential growth as a consolidator in a targeted niche.

No target price for me. This a longterm hold so I dont think 70p or 90p is relevant short term.
