15/2/2006 15:14 | Exciting stuff! What I find strange is that back at the start of 2003, S&N and SAB were about the same size. Both have since followed a strategy of acquiring brewers all over the world. But if you index their share prices (Jan 2003 = 100) then S&N is still close to 100 but SAB is around 250. What magic does SAB have that is missing from S&N? | bigbertie
15/2/2006 12:31 | 15th feb. ING says hold Scottish & Newcastle (LSE: SCTN.L - news) (target 479p). UBS buy but no target BBJL sell | bigbobjoylove
13/2/2006 22:23 | usual 12 hr wait before joe punter gets to find out any news again | keelstow
13/2/2006 22:11 | Scottish & Newcastle gained 11-3/4 pence at 512 as Merrill Lynch upgraded the stock to 'buy' from 'neutral'. Merrill Lynch pointed out that of the European brewers, S&N has been the least acquisitive in the past two years and it has the highest dividend payout ratio and dividend yield in the sector. Also supporting its bullish stance on S&N, Merrill pointed out that with its 4.4 bln stg market cap, S&N remains a viable bid target for any of the brewing heavyweights. | evo8

26/1/2006 22:51 | p.s. does anyone know what happened to TokyoGirl/ She never did achieve her 445p target poor thing, but today I got my 514p :) | coogar
26/1/2006 20:40 | PoorBobby I have no idea what he has to say any longer because I filtered him ages ago. Judging by the number of his posts today though, I would guess that he is more than a little upset LOL What a loser! Btw, I bought SCTN @ 368p so still enjoy a 5.6% (and steadily rising) dividend yield at my purchase price and would therefore probably not even sell @ 600p | coogar
26/1/2006 17:08 | APF finished up 5.5% | bigbobjoylove

26/1/2006 11:46 | hope theres a t/o may get my redundancy!! yipppeeee. Good breakout trade, well done if anyone got in.Filterx finds breakout stocks if your a premium subscriber. | bigbobjoylove
26/1/2006 09:31 | Coogar - i agree with your view - my view is 495 was a positive breakout on this share on a technical basis. | peart
25/1/2006 19:38 | The recently confirmed breakout above 492p is significant in my view and I haven't been wrong on this share for quite some time now (2+ years?) My previous target of 514p (since reduced to 485p) is now easily within reach and if that is achieved and held then 550p would appear feasible, although I maintain my HOLD stance. | coogar |
