02/12/2008 08:20 | Ive just purchased a fair whack (for me at least). Positive IMS from Game group, good balance sheet, mid cycle for the games and as a present a software game is relatively cheap compared to the hardware. Can see gradual traction of the game over coming weeks, although US side does worry me a little. It would not surprise me if within 24 months this stock is taken over. In at 19.15p ALL IMO DYOR. | alanrex
01/12/2008 23:53 | Not too bad from Chart track this week, TRU up to no. 7 in the charts with sales up 12%. No 5 on the PS3 and no 6 on Xbox 360, also moving up to no 21 on Wii. Hanging on in the top 10 up to Christmas would be pretty good. Don't go with the top 40 all price chart, use the top 40 full price chart. That's a rise from #8 to #5 | singularity
01/12/2008 22:24 | The NPD figures Darren referred to come out monthly but I'm not sure how long after the end of tht month. There are usually a few unofficial breakdowns that get reported on forum threads but I'm not sure which are the best to monitor at the moment, I haven't really followed the games industry for a while. I'm pretty sure SEG is worth more than the current market cap on a sum of the parts basis but real value in the medium term requires TRU to provide a cashflow boost. | yellow_snow

01/12/2008 14:10 | Midway sold for $100,000 with buyer assuming the $70 mill debt. If TRU sales dissapoint again this week I can only see these going lower with a takeover below the current price. | dope007

30/11/2008 13:54 | Take the article with a pinch of salt. I wish I had a pound for every time there was a rumour of a takeover. If TRU crashes and burns, then that may be a different proposition. SCi only have to sell out if they have yet another cash flow crisis. I think that will be unlikely, because even TR AoD sold 1.5M and that was a true disaster. The worst the reviewers are saying is that TRU is solid and entertaining, but not earth shattering. The launch has been lacklustre, but the same thing happened with K&L this time last year (but with worse reviews) and it hung around the top 10 through Xmas to the end of Jan and ended up with 1.5M sales. I'm expecting TRU to do much the same thing, especially as it will be out on 6 platforms (PS2 version out in the New Year) and there are also the 360 download episodes to come. If K&L and AoD can sell 1.5M I would expect TRU to do at least the same. It has to be remembered that a lower chart placing at Xmas will often equate to a top 3 position at an earlier time of year, because 70% of industry sales come in Nov and Dec. The next few weeks will be interesting, but not a disaster IMO, provided my forecast is accurate. That will generate enough capital to tide them over the next few months until JC2, BS, Shellshock, CM and Batman are released. I think it will still turn out to be a profitable year, but not the blockbuster it would have been had TRU sold 3 or 4M. | life of crime
