ONW - yep well could be either but I just hope that they are using the new device for reasons given in my last post but more than anything because it's good for Scancell - shows that the FDA are happy with the device and it's use in a combination trial.

Yes bs, but they are right to question that the new device is already being used in trials. If you type "Trigrid 2.0" into google, the first 10 responses refer to Scancell - no other trial is mentioned. Fingers crossed that regardless, Scancell will pioneer the new version, and I am encouraged that the core Trigrid technology has been approved for so many trials by the FDA in the past. Despite the frequently noted side effects of the device, they clearly believe the positives outweigh the negatives.

BS - thank you for taking the time to respond, much appreciated. Would concur we really need to get these trials started asap before the market overtakes us.

Presumably each trial has to submit details of the delivery system and that delivery system then become specific to that trial and Biologic agent.
I can't imagine anyone now using the the Mk 1 version when the V2 is avavilble, surely that wouldn't make sense if you'd need to submit another application when moving to the V2 in the specific delivery of the biologic agentthat's just been trialled at great expense... but then again.... :-)
So I could conceive of both versions of the Trigrid device being in use in separate trials now, but maybe we're far enough down the Trigrid devipment path to not see many more using the original version.
Wouldn't it be good if it was just a case of Proving the delivery system without having it specific to the product on trial. :-)

Wigwammer,

Well if they're correct, that means that there are new trials starting in the US using the old device which in turn means that Sally Adams gave incorrect information at the AGM. It also means that Scancell could have been using the old device all along and the SCIB1 trial could have been completed by now.

Inanaco is suggesting that the FDA haven't cleared Ichor's master file, something you'd think Scancell might notice when carrying out due diligence before signing a licensing deal.

I had another listen to the AGM recording and this is what was said about the FDA issue with the Ichor device:-

"There's nothing wrong with the device, the device is fit for purpose, the device does what it says on the tin. It's the data supporting the utility of the device for the delivery of SCIB1 that's the issue"

Interesting discussion about whether Trigrid v2 is being used in current trials. Thanks for the info bs and let's hope it's true - but inanaco and wildforce do raise some valid scepticism :)

BS - not a science buff and highly unlikely I'd get a straight (unbiased) answer on the other board but what's your take on this that's just popped up? The two grey areas to me are I thought NSCLC was one of our target areas and Genetech one of our partners, does appear that the money and resource is being spent elsewhere while we dither on the sidelines

Inanaco and Wildforce - you are saying that unless the Ichor device is described as V 2.0 it must be the old device. Ichor themselves appear to have dropped any distinction in name between new and old device in presentations and press releases so I wonder how you can be so sure?

There are 2 new trials on the clinical trials register using the Trigrid device. One is already open for recruitment and one isn't yet and both describe the electroporation device simply as Trigrid Delivery System. According to your logic both must be using the old device. IMO that would be odd given that they are 3 and 5 year phase 1 trials. Why would they start a 5 year trial using an obsolete device?

More importantly, this is a direct quote from Sally Adams at the AGM:-

"We can't use the old device any more, it's no longer available"

So either Sally Adams gave incorrect information at the AGM or the trials are using the new device. If they are then that's great news for Scancell.

Inanaco,

How do you know that the Trigrid device isn't approved in the US yet? Do you really think Scancell would sign a licensing agreement for a device that wasn't cleared by the FDA for use in clinical trials? I hope not.

There is a big difference between Ichor's new device master file being cleared by the FDA and the opening of the IND for SCIB1 allowing use of the device in the SCIB1 trial.

Scancell (either SA or LD) confirmed at the AGM that the old Ichor device was no longer available so either that was incorrect or the US trial on the clinical trial register is using the new device - take your pick. It doesn't really matter which and I'm sure the SCIB1 IND will be opened over the coming weeks.

Bermuda - thanks for 18733.

GC IS a great opportunity for Scancell. Surely, as the project will be rooted in 'Modi' science, Scancell will have a major slice of the IP which might result.

Looking forward to some reflected 'glory' indeed. We could use it.

TF - re. your 18721

Yes, there were a few comments in the Trinity report which raised a few eyebrows but will restrict my comments to your question.

I suppose when you think about it logically, the CRUK team isn't there simply to develop another Modi vaccine in the image of previous ones - if you read the write-up carefully it's much more than that (see below). If you're putting together a multi-disciplinary team with some of the best in their field to 'create truly bespoke vaccines for each patient and radically improving survival on a global scale.' then you would hope that they'll come up with something new which of course means creating new IP.

Not necessarily a bad thing at all - I assume Scancell would jointly own the IP so much better to partly own something newly created than not create it at all.

Perhaps more of a concern is the comment about the Grand Challenge being a distraction. Winning would bring many positives, not least to the reputation of Prof. Durrant and of course Scancell would bask in her reflected glory but Scancell already seem to be spreading themselves thinly with an ever widening pipeline so something to watch perhaps.

There there OLD timer. Just trying to help out. You suggested inanaco and pals had gone quiet, but guess what? They have been over on the lse site all along. Worry over! As for comparing the "swallowers" performance to other investors - difficult to know what else they hold, aside from some shares in SCLP - hence impossible to say who has done better or worse than them. So you have asked one question which had a very easy answer, and another question that cannot possibly be answered. Anyway, I'm staring to understand why inanaco wound you up so much... because it's easy! :)

Well done... you found them! Not sure why you believe everyone who owns the share is following inanaco - appears to be an unhealthy obsession on your part. perhaps they just think Lindy Durrant might be on to something and the risk reward is attractive.. "I have never in 30 years seen anything that potent..There will be a cohort of patients that respond really well to this vaccine that have high levels of autophagy and high levels of citrullination".
