I may have got this mixed up with another drug then. I'm sure that Scancell sold rights to something to a pharma or Biotech company in the very early days.

I've always been disappointed that such promise seems to have gone nowhere especially as a colleagues husband has bone cancer.

If you're around, have just caught up on the posts on lse re. the old Daily Mail article and the earlier version of ImmunoBody used to treat the girls with osteosarcoma.

The drug in question was actually developed by Lindy Durrant and her team at Nottingham but was funded and supported by CRUK. In 2010 CRUK licensed it to Scancell and so no need to have any concerns over the IP. Name of the drug in question is 105AD7 - if you google mAB 105AD7 you'll get the full story.

Gazza - filters - yep I use 'em. And it counts to turn 'em on and off. Why not ? The 'filter' makes the place acceptable - I don't have the read the obsessive stuff. But I do get to read the sensible contributions. There !

Gaz. Thanks for conceding it's about 5 in 50. I make no comment about the lse board - except to say that people who don't like it don't need to read it. To make the point again, if around 90% of posts aren't relevant to SCLP then it's probably inaccurate to suggest the board offers "sensible, balanced and civilised debate, mainly on topic, but the odd bit of social interaction and banter." But WE ALL know that anyway :)

Of course it has something to do with market cap, the larger the company, the larger its potential exposure to funding.

For example, does the uneducated oaf think that Scancell could go to the funding market to borrow £100 mill to buy another bio that wasn't making any money ?
They would be laughed off the stage.... Now put Glaxo in the same situation, and they would stand every chance of securing the funding.
