"You don't profit from a down-trending stock."Not entirely correct I'd suggest. The key factor is whether the stock falls further after you've bought. Even a stock on a down trend could reach a bottom and rise. It may even go into an upward trend. Surely the trick is spotting stocks in a downtrend that are about to turn. But if we all could do that, we'd all be millionaires! In the case of stocks in downtrend over many years, then you are right, not profit to be made as is amply evidenced by the situation here.

Look at the venture capital trust calculus....they made money for their early investors here very wisely....by selling at the right time.

Have to give it to Inanaco - his faith never waivers.

Good to see some Moditope news - modi 1 has been in trial almost 3 years and this is the first real data we have seen. And remember Moditope was the reason in 2012/2013 we had a change in strategy (it's been an 11 year journey). How about the other modi1 targets - are those trials still ongoing/will we ever see that data?

Moditope was the prized asset - it was supposed to be a new industry, able to work as a monotherapy and yet it seems (at best) it will be the kicker in a combo. Hard to know how this will play out. Hopefully the Moditope gamble pays off.

Nana AIM acts differently to other markets and is not primarily affected by macro movements but by sentiment and news.IMM went up 200% yesterday despite the market crisis due mainly to TM comments rather than the Science whereas SCLP released better news but fell.
Simply the buying volume was not enough to absorb whoever was selling which again is not reflective of macro events.

In a report issued this afternoon to clients, it said: “If, as looks likely at the moment, [the Office for Budget Responsibility forecast on Mar 26] shows the Chancellor has no headroom, then a spending review a few weeks or maybe even months later that contains no changes on tax and spend plans but rather just allocates money, and then an Autumn Budget even further out, could give the impression of a government that is not committed to fiscal responsibility.

“We think that without a change in the market pricing, there is a high chance that the Chancellor is forced to make fiscal adjustments sooner than that to deal with the gap.”

I have only got to do it once ! and because i already have a very successful investment arm which generates a large income, i can just run with it so hopefully this could be the last year to get approx another 200,000 shares into ISA in 10 weeks like i did last year ...

Issue to me and suspect others is your unwillingness to accept or even consider any of viewpoint on any aspect of SCLP unless it is in complete concurrent with your thoughts.

Nana I do believe that having different views on different topics is a strength so you can be pro Remain but against mass immigration from non EU countries.
