I notice that our resident " car park attendant " has been very quiet recently.
Could this be because his £8 prediction becomes ever further from reality ?
In fact, he continues to lose more and more on his investment whilst the likes of RR and Loz are proven to be correct YET AGAIN.

Just musing....

Remember Scancell teamed up with BioNTech, Genentech (Roche) and ISA Pharmaceuticals to form Project Blueprint for Cancer Research UK’s Grand Challenge.

The team outlined plans to eradicate established tumours with its unique vaccine, which had Scancell’s Modi-3 treatment at its heart.

Genentech is heavily into antibodies/ADCs too.

We have a deal with ISA on Moditope. BioNTech is interested so I would be amazed if Roche is not also interested.

Merck lost out on Seagen , the Glymabs and Avidimab may interest them when we get clinical data.

Roche has paid out $250 million cash to aquire preclinical PD-1-regulated IL-2 program.

Roche's Genentech inks $3B biobucks deal for Adaptimmune's T cells

I happened to watch both PMQ's and the Budget speech last night - good theatre. It's really good to see 'grown-ups' back in charge.

MY personal tax is going up for sure but the UK needs my help atm . . .

Income tax thresholds being locked for years to come IS a drastic measure as is the hike to 25% Corporation tax. But I was delighted to see immediate EXPENSING of all plant and equipment purchases introduced and IMO that could go a long way to offsetting the corporation tax hike, (although much will be imported).

Starmer's opportunistic dissing of all was disappointing for a 'leftie'.

Loz - the Brahminy observed in 'stressfree' Thailand. A large bird, head and neck pure white with rust coloured wings and body.

Today in the European Parliament, Mislav Kolakusic Croatian MEP, " Today we are witnessing the burning of billions of doses of covid vaccines around the world 🌍 because no one wants them.

It would have been better if we had burned them all immediately and thus saved the health and lives of many citizens."

MarkingTime/Emptyvessel, why bother with trials why not just get needles into arms as soon as possible, what could possibly go wrong, idiot.

Yes - the clear and specific reference to cancer vaccines is clearly helpful, especially given trial timelines.I wonder (if Modi-1 continues to be "very encouraging") whether it might lead to a revised trial protocol, aimed specifically at getting an early MHRA approval in, say, 18 months time? I suspect they will want to make at least some high profile approvals prior to the election - and cancer vaccines would be a major headline story that would grab voter attention. Will be interesting to see if the health journalists pick up on this angle.

Burble

Interesting to note -

'The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) will receive £10 million extra funding over two years to maximise its use of Brexit freedoms and accelerate patient access to treatments. This will allow, from 2024, the MHRA to introduce new, swift approvals systems, speeding up access to treatments already approved by trusted international partners and ground-breaking technologies such as cancer vaccines and AI therapeutics for mental health.'

The fact it's specifically noted cancer vaccines - suggests that we may continue to have favourable tail winds

Re MHRA:https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/pro-innovation-regulation-of-technologies-review-life-sciences-interim-report/letter-from-sir-patrick-vallance-to-the-chancellor"A major focus for UK regulators should therefore be to enable the best innovations to be delivered safely and rapidly to patients through the creation of innovation pathways for MedTech, diagnostics and drugs. Regulators will need to concentrate on domains where truly novel and transformative therapies are emerging, interacting with innovators from a very early stage to define a route to approval, and ensure that regulators play an enabling role throughout the journey to approval."

Iwonder why Pfizer expect an exponential increase in the number of people being diagnosed with Cancer, any ideas why they foresee this happening. Should be positive for Scancell.

And is the rest of the year - not difficult to see some strong demand here when the panic and mania goes out of the market.

Two pretty large items in there. Trouble is when the FTSE is down 3% the market simply doesn't care in the short term.

Budget changes to MHRA regulatory regime from 2024 to give much-faster approvals on innovative medical treatments and drugs!!That could be massive for Scancell, given where we currently stand on the various trials!??

Yup - I would agree with that - currently being valued at cash plus a very small chance of anything working which is clearly wrong.

I'd suggest that the Modi-1 trials story is an evolving one, with announcements building on the previous. At some point the market will start looking forward and trying to estimate value to eg a Merck.

Well at least we have a future event to hang our misplaced hopes on.
I wonder if it will be true to form - a modest increase followed by a slip back? Or will things be different this time? As a seasoned professional forecaster, I'd always go with "true to form".
