Scancell got the information it needed = No Loss, only loss was to patients who could have benefited further but a year to remanufacture would not have helped them

so unfortunately .....Scancell yield from that trial you could argue was in the order of £100m ............ no covidity without that data ...

As you say it seems strange to even think that a batch could go off.

"As announced on 17 June 2016, treatment for the eight patients in the long-term continued dosing phase has been suspended due to the clinical trial supplies no longer being within the original specification
New SCIB1 material being manufactured to support a new study of SCIB1 in combination with a checkpoint inhibitor will also be made available to these continuation patients (subject to regulatory approval)
Plans for the US clinical study of SCIB1 in combination with a checkpoint inhibitor remain on track, enrolment expected to commence in Q3 2017
The final Clinical Study Report will be issued later this year and will support our US IND submission"

Sometimes it is better to say nothing than to challenge. Obviously we hope that the company won't be caught out again but you've managed to throw up the amazing failure (so far) of an expected trial (not all Scancell's fault) but significantly to others a very unfortunate failure of "Stock control". Don't forget the trial for which the new batch was manufactured was due to start four years ago.... Tick Tock?
Always in my experience better to accept a comment (after researching to your own satisfaction) rather than to highlight it by a failure to do the digging.

On which previous occasion was money actually spent manufacturing vaccines which were then thrown away?.....I'm aware that trials have been expected previously haven't always happened - but there are no examples AFAIK of money being wasted on actual manufacture of vaccines that went to waste.

Re. the link between vaccines and mutations/variants - have you ever bothered to find out which countries are actually carrying out sequencing because that's the only way new mutations are discovered and perhaps that's the common factor rather than vaccines.......and even if sequencing is taking place, are all countries sharing the results?

Going to filter you Panama because I just can't understand why you post some of the stuff you do. It's one thing and perfectly fair enough to have a personal view that you don't want to be vaccinated but quite another to spread fear through lies on a public forum that may well influence others to decide against vaccination. You knew full well that the UK variant was sequenced back in September and you know perfectly well why it wasn't announced until December because we have discussed it before and yet you still posted the same stuff again. You have no idea who is reading this board or the impact of your anti-vax lies.

You forgot to mention what the funding is for - it's nothing to do with the UK or regulation of UK drugs. It's to help poor countries monitor the safety of new drugs.

'WHO and the Gates Foundation have launched ‘Project Smart Safety Surveillance’ (also known as Project 3-S) to help LMIC’s identify, assess, and adequately manage the risks associated with new products. MHRA will be joining this initiative to bring regulatory expertise to the project. This will be for a 3-year period where it is intended to run three pilot exercises in different LMIC settings.'
