Good point re dividing by 20.....except that the data gaps in rural India are much more significant than the gaps in rural UK.India's health services are also quite variable in terms of system resiliance.I suspect case rates in the worst affected areas are well above those seen in most of the UK.

#38955 You need to divide any number you hear about India by 20 to compare with UK by population. Don't believe everything from Sky News/BBC, both of who HAVE to find something to report every day, whilst being unable (in accordance with government instructions) to say anything that does not accord with the government narrative.

Dominic is that ref. 38948 ? You mean Thailand ? We only have to look at India (and others) to see that Covid 19 thrives in hotter climates too.

Maybe higher Vitamin D from sunshine helps and maybe UV will impede the virus on surfaces but otherwise - Covid 19 can still run riot. Unfortunately . .

'Can a universal vaccine be created that protects us against all Corona viruses?'
According to the magazine Science, currently in the world there are more than 20 research teams working on a candidate for a pancoronavirus vaccine.

'According to CEPI, several of these initiatives look promising in principle.
One of them is the colaboration between the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University and the pharmaceutical company Scancell.
His bet is for a vaccine that acts on the spike protein and on another structure of the virus, called protein N.
This N protein is much less prone to mutating, so if the vaccine manages to act on it, it could generate an immune response regardless of whether the spike has mutated.
In that way, it could offer protection against various types of coronavirus.'

Goosed, I am sure you are right, very strange that we're in the middle of a Pandemic and Gates doesn't want to share the manufacturing of the gene therapy treatments with the developing nations. I would have thought they would want to get it into as many arms globally as quickly as possible.

Moljen - agree, a very public dummy spitting session, there was only ever going to be one winner & Redmile have the pedigree.

More concerning to me is the usual missing of timelines, initially if funded Covidity trial could have been Q4 2020, then Q1 2021 & now sometime in 2021. All sounds terribly familiar. Much has been made of the hopes for CEPI co-ordinated funding - hopefully not echoes of the Grand Challenge.

Yesterday *WE ALL* saw the several SELLING 100,000 trades REPORTED {times, prices }.
NOT reported was Someone buying - Times or prices... REVEALED today [hidden yesterday}
It does not take a 'stretch of the imagination' to wonder if an RNS might accompany the REPORTED *selling*.. as, maybe / probably, someone was UNREPORTEDLY buying.

Observing, applying logic, questioning what one is seeing... is not an asset often employed by D R Guwer, as *WE ALL* know "we are MINTED, £8+ a share"anon is the limit of HIS 'blunt knife intellect'.

Vulpes backed Scancell based on the science ........... politics intervened but they continued to participate ..

the Science only goes from strength to strength as each hurdle is got over ....

the Biggest for trial start is still Covid .. as we just do not know what the NHS are up to on the cancer side ...

but that is a time risk ............

it does not stop Scancell continuing to develop the Ip and Invent ....

Scancell is always a year ahead of where we think they are because of Patents ..

Goosed - it did, but if they now want to get back to 14.5% and preferably 15% to reach that degree of shareholder protection they've some work to do to get the next 1.25M and 400K(other sales from Feb) plus the extra 0.5% needed to reach 15%.

My concern at time was them spitting dummy out and they'd sell down and down to the 10% protection level so been sitting on my hands to wait and see.

Now quite happy to add again as don't think my concerns from them have been borne out
