cnbc yesterday ,industry is forcasting a 40% increase in Lithium demand by 2022 in particular ev and storage products .

At risk of a dose of Covid lockdown irrational optimism, there is certainly markedly greater interest and comment in the lithium, EV, storage, eu supply chain space. SAVs imminent (May 18) engagement is timely with the Benchmark online EVent the following week which I am sure will be well supported. If people are minded to look at various opportunities then it will be interesting to see if there is any follow through.

In other Portuguese press, it looks like there is to be on line presentations on May 18th. Does that mean the EIA will be out by then, who knows, but the long awaited community discussions would seem to be getting closer.

Cars and especially electric vehicles are looking to a bright future as public transport is going to reduce by numbers of around 60% for the next 3 years because of Covid restrictions , not just in uk , but all of euro nations .
So David you really need to get things moving here otherwise you will miss the boat .

Lets have some news !

Thanks IB for alerting us about the latest newsletter. I'm still of the opinion it'll be 3rd -4th quarter before EIA is dealt with.

Archer has used "hope" and "shortly" in the same sentence!

Having said that, at least there's been some communication for which we can be thankful.

I was just checking on how Portugal was getting on and was amused by this statement in an article (which I found interesting) from a couple of weeks ago.

"Explanations for Portugal’s relative success have ranged from cleaner air to decades of anti-tuberculosis vaccinations and intervention from Our Lady of Fatima."

Perhaps we should be all saying our 'Hail Marys'

Good to see that SAV have brought their Community engagement up to date after almost three months. With Portugal about to re-start, perhaps the long awaited EIA is about to be dropped into the APAs in box and this part of the process can get underway.http://www.savannahresources.com/cms/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/April-Newsletter_EN.pdf

Thanks GED. I've only been invested in SAV for a year so I still have some optimism.
I think a lot of the delay has been ensuring the EIA is good enough to convince the Goverment and locals. We know we have the resource and if the EIA passes everything will start to move quickly including finance.
I'd be interested to hear other investors opinions.

You may be correct, Phippsy and thank you for the reminder.

My view is this pandemic is causing a lot of disruption. Offices will not have usual numbers of staff. Some staff will be self-isolating. (Not talking about SAV staff). Everything will be slower than usual.

I hope digger doesn't mind me posting this from another thread. The same could be said about shortly!:-

I have seen the word "imminent" misused so many times that we should ask the Oxford Dictionary to add an optional definition :- "when used in business management speak" it means this will occur or already has occurred in some parallel universe but will not manifest itself in the real world any time soon or if at all.

Hi Ged5
The last RNS said 'Finalising the Environmental Impact Assessment & Mine Plan for submission to the national regulator shortly'. Shorty in my terms would be 4-6 weeks so hopefully we'll see an RNS in the next couple weeks. GLA

It has been some time since I visited the SAV website but just looked in this morning.
I can't envisage much going on until the 3rd or 4th quarter with this virus about. In the meantime there's a section on Lithium with plenty to read.

Well there's nothing else to do other than the garden so why not?

Hope everybody is keeping safe or keeping others safe. Keep off the disinfectant!

EMH have updated market today. Price reduction and exit door left wide open. Big thing is that they have funding to see if they can get to the next stage - funds that weren't available through the open market. So what options are now left in Europe? Austria? Serbia? Fantasyland? It is good to see the pieces starting to move across Europe though, like some game of Risk.

Thx IB....digging around Infinity's other announcements in recent months, it seems they hold the intellectual property to this novel, environmentally friendly method for converting Lithium carbonate in to Lithium hydroxide that the EU have been promoting....using fertiliser, rather than sulphuric acid....and this funding is initially for the first and second phase pilot plants to prove the process, delivering a couple of kg of the final hydroxide to offtake partners for their approval...all costing around $3m/$4m of EU money or so.

The aim then is for the patented process to be licensed out to other hydroxide conversion plants, i.e. the one SAV hope to be associated with at Port de Leixoes. So, we may need Infinity to be prioritised in this process to enable and benefit SAV's hydroxide plant to move forward in due course.

The EU seem very interested in this green conversion technology. How interested the EU ultimately prove to be in Infinity's actual low grade mica based lithium in the ground (with $310m capex) it will be interesting to watch! Notably in the announcement the EU doesn't commit to funding Infinity's $310m capex, but will 'help them find' the funding from public and private partners in the EU.
