At least there's a reason I suppose, unsatisfactory as it is...

TBF, iDealing used to be excellent with the dividend being paid before markets opened on the date it was due. However, as you say, there seems to have been a backroom change and it is now paid out during the date due, which is totally fine by me-even though I'd prefer it be there before trading starts ;-)

As a brief aside I had one holding that paid by cheque and the bank lost the cheque after iDealing presented it, that was a nightmare to get sorted out by iDealing and. IIRC, it took over 6 months to finally get it paid.

Tried to buy see some today and I was quoted a stamp duty by AJBell? Is it real? Is stamp duty due on this one?

The tenders on NWBD and LLPC were voluntary and at a price higher than the market. However I cant speak for others that may have happened.

Are the tenders voluntary ?? ....presumably at a price higher than one would get on the market if selling (meaning a reduction in running yield).

Thx for the reply. The tenders I had on NWDB and LLPC were quite good ie could recycle profitably. If they tender here at 2.5% over gilts I see no problem. Its an attempt at par that worries me, but as each tender across the sector happens so the accepted done thing is written deeper

hindsighti posted recently that san had bought a lot of these back already and they were a strong candidate for future corporate action....the risk being a spike in interest rates and lower tender prices... i took the response to be that people would rather hold for income, i dont think is an option here, but good luck to anyone with a different view - whether its good or bad then i would say depends on your own preference and if you are able / want to recycle into something similar, will we be able to bounce into tenders from aviva, lloyds, natwest, rsa etc? ive started buying more funds for longer term income, but am hoping to use the swan song from prefs to get a leg up there, no guarantees though...

stansmith1, are you suggesting thats good or bad
The tenders look ~2.5% over gilts so if tendered here be ~6.5%

All the pref shares I have held have been in my SIPP where dividend payments are received without deduction but I am thinking of buying for my ISA and would appreciate reassurance as requested by madmix.
