rat - prefs went ex-div 2nd March. Next ex-div date likely to be 1st Sept for payment on 6th October.

Just another thought. As I am showing a loss having bought in 2008 immediately prior to Le Crunch, if price is now ex-div, will crystalise the loss for 2010/11, retain the current dividend and buy back in 31 days to retain the yield of 9.51% at or near offer of 109.5p as the price is likely to drop as the threat of a rise in base rate looms.

rat & (envirovision) - just to confirm that dividend PAYMENT DATES are 6th April & 6th Oct, not ex-div dates. Collins Stewart Pref/PIB offer prices are now quoted ex-div but I will try and get date that SAN went ex and post tomorrow.

yes correct, but wrong on the sipp i dont think there is a mechanism for claiming back the tax there.

For 2008, it plans to spend 9.2 mln cad on exploration, although this may be increased depending on if there are further successes, the company added.
