What surprised me is the increase in CAPEX they recently mentioned to update their manufacturing, which will take a number of years.

I wonder why they are not outsourcing this rather than an in house operation?.

Would hope SDG considered this as part of their strategic review and concluded
it better kept as part of the business.

LG: Many aspire to appear richer than they are. Also some of the old generation uber rich dress down to appear poor and not worth robbing.

If you can afford Sanderson stuff, you're not worrying about mortgage rates.

UK mortgages up horrifically - very little household budgets left for nice wallpaper, Problem her 9Imo) will be weakness of consumer demand.

Seems like a reassuringly dull statement- which has to be taken as a positive in this environment!

I noticed on another note they seem to have shut down their direct to the consumer brand Sanderson Archive I’m guessing because it wasn’t generating enough business but does anyone else have any thoughts on this ?

Mentioned yesterday looked a reasonable sell price over £1.41, unless holding longer term.

SDG can travel very quickly in either direction, if wanting to buy then best looked at on poor sentiment rather than excitement.

The share price had travelled from circa £1.15 in December, so perhaps unsurprising on an underwhelming statement some have sold.

I'm not sure there is a compelling short term buy case ATM,
however the brands may be worth significantly more to someone else.

CFX run a very different model, they don't manufacture and I
wonder if SDG require a more radical look at this area.

Singers (their Joint Broker) update eps forecast for this FY is 12.9p, so a 9% reduction. That gives a forward PE of 9.8x which going on historic ratings, pre covid, is at the top of the range. That seems to confirm my thinking that there's zero additional licensing income this FY and costs are elevated in resourcing these deals as well as the fact that core revenue is stalling / falling and they are not passing on costs to customers / clients.

I was happy enough with yesterday, just disappointed I couldn't work another call with management. Anyway, added a few more this morning above my last buy as I'm quite comfortable to let this run as a longer term investment. As an aside, family member recently used Sanderson for some rather nice blinds, very well fitted by one of their appointed contractors. Quality product at a fair price.

They'll be contributing to the pension £2.4m this FY:"The Group's contributions to the schemes for the year beginning 1 February 2023 are expected to be GBP2,404,000."

Key takeaway for me, Licence revenue from Disney, has not started any thoughts?. 100% profit margin so great if significant. Cash flow affected by many factors already mentioned, increased inventory, working capital adjustments, extra cap ex, £1m spent extra in France. I worked out adjusted cash flow about £10m. So 10% yield on Market Cap. Also pension payment £2.5M a year, will finish soon I guess, as Pension closed 2005, so more cash for shareholders.
I think in a few years being an optimist £15M cash flow. Looks a buy, I am waiting as missed out on earlier lows.

I’m with you Essential-broadly as expected but perhaps hoping for a little more -valued now at about 8.5 times earnings plus cash -seems about right I suppose and a firm hold at these levels

A little underwhelmed at the statement, bid over £1.41 ATM, so a nice recent move and looks a reasonable sell price unless
holding longer term.
