Last year's trading update was on 25th Oct but they then got stuffed with a late asset impairment charge which did very little for sentiment. Unless somebody steps in with a bid, I think we may have to wait for the announcement of the next audited accounts before this has any chance of bottoming out.

Agree alotto but some form of catalyst will be required to perk things up here.

If you think last year it made 120mln pretax profits and now the market cap is below 600mln I can hardly believe it is gone this cheap. Big part of the business is repeat custom so you can't expect a total crash in the second half, considering that the trade update was quite upbeat for H2.
It's a wait and see game at the moment.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is a takeover.
The only bit I don't like here is the squandering of cash for buybacks.
We went from net cash to debt. Average price paid was about 250p.

Looks like my concerns earlier in the year that we might hit 150p here could be about to happen. Just not enough good news yet to turn this one around.

Liontrust also seem to have increased their holding in August from 12 to 13%. Can anyone confirm any significant director buys over last 12 months?

Edit - apologies: scrolling though the thread I see the 10 k buy some months ago and discussion about it! Also the launch of Trados Studio, which looks interesting.

This now is on my radar. Stuart Widdowson interview worth listening to at 62', though Oddyssean sold out the last of theirs. My main takeaways - it will probably do better than its competitors on AI; and its business niche will not simply be replaced by google.



Its key ratios look quite modestly priced

And it has passed the 76% of peak price that I look for in a fallen star; while offering a 7%+ dividend. I also think the chart may be forming a bottom, though I have not yet bought in.

Given the share price has been low for long enough, I can see RWS become a takeover target. However the offer price ought to be in the price range of the concluded share buyback, otherwise it won't make much financial sense... And that is a 100% premium

No it shows above 0.5% ( the notification bench mark) for the first time in late May and has doubled up in the intervening period

Anyone know anything about Hound Partners who have recently gone short (1.19%) of RWS? Odd timing given the share price decline and KWS bid but it has made me more nervous of opening a position in RMS.

Indie the markets will come off the boil of the AI, especially if the rates are cut. RWS has only seen a painful steady share price decline, the only way is upward, provided sales pick up momentum again

HAL was the super-powerful spaceship's robot in the film "2001 - A Space Odyssey". Its job was to oversee everything on the spaceship but it went mad and killed several astronauts then tried to kill the main character. You are perhaps too young to remember it :)
