08/10/2018 13:03 | The article doesn't say anything about a bid being unlikely. It's pretty neutral. | furrycoat100
08/10/2018 12:53 | gambo555 - just read the FT Alphaville article, but didn't spot where it says a bid is unlikely. May have missed it, and apologies in advance if I have, can you point us to the section please. Thanks | squidsgone
08/10/2018 12:36 | They can be, the market will view them as being intrinsically linked. | squidsgone
08/10/2018 12:24 | not necessarily - but we may never know not wanting to pursue an interest- period - and failure to agree on price can be two separate issues | phillis
08/10/2018 12:17 | The two will be seen as one and the same | squidsgone
08/10/2018 12:08 | maybe that a bullish trading statement will be a counterweight to withdrawal if withdrawal we might have to wait to see if there is a reason given no agreement on price or something nasty in the woodwork? | phillis
08/10/2018 11:55 | Id say it looks like a no bidder - FT alphaville thinks its unlikely. | gambo555
08/10/2018 11:52 | RPC 01933 416528 confirmed statement would be made today but timing not known. | cheshire pete

08/10/2018 08:36 | You wonder if the eventual buyer for this is just sat on the sidelines waiting for this ‘interest̵ | oli12
08/10/2018 08:26 | I too thought a pre 8am anouncement was likely. I also reckon that the key figures in the 3 co's will have spent the weekend in various talks. For resulting intention of bidders they may have to wait for Monday to speak to Banks, financial support and other key figures - so, althogh an rns of this type is uncool during trading hours, I think it may happen. It would be re4al damp squib if we hear nothing and it just lapses past the end date. I will stay holding and await the outcome. Dave. | dr_smith
08/10/2018 07:44 | Any positive trading update will be overshadowed in the event no offer is made. Any significant drop could be a good entry point for long term investors in the event of no bid. hxxps://www.wsj.com/ | oli12
08/10/2018 07:44 | Could it be to do with Apollo being an NYSE listed company and therefore needing to announce at the same time as them if they have made a bid? | jw121
08/10/2018 07:32 | It must be positive. If there had been no contact, with interested parties, there would be no reason to delay the update. Whether or not an offer materializes is another issue. | redartbmud
08/10/2018 07:28 | The TU was scheduled for today - that has also been delayed. I'm not sure how to read this as either positive or negative? | monions01
08/10/2018 07:23 | Well no news yet which does not bode well, surely if there was a deal to announce by now then they would duly do so. I guess we will find out tomorrow as the deadline is post close today. | oli12
07/10/2018 09:48 | So what do you think the outcome is rhubarb | quick fit
07/10/2018 09:31 | Not spotted any weekend news leak yet...like last time... when news of the ‘interest̵ | oli12
07/10/2018 08:40 | If you look at the trades recorded at about 1330 on Friday, it looks as if the outcome is certain. The imbalance is enormous! | rhubarbcrumble |
