Corbyn has stated that he will buy the stock back but he won't get in anyway. He's finished.

Only if Corbyn's govt abandons international law and wants to scare away foreign investment.

Anyway, if it comes to it we'll see what the courts think.

"The govt would have to pay at least the going market value - any attempt to steal private companies will be challenged in the courts."

Complete and utter rubbish.

The government are obliged to pay nothing legally.

"I can believe letter voulmes are still declining but small packages and parcels are definately on the rise pretty much every day more and more stuff is bought online most being delivered by our postal system. Stacks of packages get delivered pretty much every day for our household."

Letters down 10% year on year at my mail centre.

Parcels up 1% but with huge pricing pressure.

I see she is out again striving uphill on her early morning jog. She clearly wants to look her best before her minders present her to suitors old and new on Thursday.

this dividend coming through this time is almost 8% which is pretty huge. Trouble is it'll dip 8% on ex-dividend, usually bounces back up though if you wait a few weeks

SUNDAY MAIL:

Renationalisation threat at Royal Mail

The spectre of renationalisation on the cheap under a Jeremy Corbyn-led Labour government still looms large over Royal Mail.

But the company has more pressing worries.

It is set to update investors this week on first quarter trading, which could make for more painful reading.

Letter volumes are expected to be down 8 per cent with new data protection laws and low business confidence.

Broker Jefferies also reckons its long-term margin target is too optimistic.

If potential investors were worried about Corbyn's plans to return the business to state ownership, this might be enough to put them off for good.
