Nobody in their right minds would take over this business if the unions are driving the business into the ground. At the moment I don't see a hope it looks like British Leyland where everybody lost their jobs or British coal. When unions damage a business like this it's a disaster

In 2012 The Government took over the existing Royal Mail pension scheme taking control over all Asset and Liabilities, this was required to ensure the privatisation. Therefore the Tax payer stands to guarantee these pensions. And as preiously stated the new pension schemes are not guaranteed and Royal Mail employees take the risks of any under performance of the pension fund.

It is, but it will be paid by tax payers. All employees are on a new scheme now which has a surplus.

I suggest people do a search on RM pension obligations. It has been de-risked for RM, there is an agreement with the CWU, the risks now lie with the workers in a pooled scheme where their future pension incomes will not be guaranteed, there will be no individual pension plans but will receive a share from a common pool.

Good value at this level. 17p divi soon and 15p rebased moving forward is covered from earnings. It needed dropped as pointed out by several posters on here.

The market must believe that there is no hope here.
A potentially sound business.
The management can't be that bad can they?
And are the unions so destructive that they do not care about the health of the business.

Everyone would benefit from a well run business.

I will hold here, so much potential.

It may not affect the Mail Centres, but if properly leaving gets rid of the requirement to share the postage with other carriers just for trunking, it will make a big difference to cash flow on the mail side of things.
