07/6/2019 10:35 | It all depends on Rico Back's acumen, he's backed himself (no pun intended) by recently buying £300k worth of shares. The rest is pure conjecture, which we're all experts at. | oiht
07/6/2019 09:41 | down on a buoyant day like today with dow still going up seems to be an ominous sign. I guess 190 is chart support level and SOR if it breaches that . Might be due for an intra day bounce at the moment on short covering ! | arja
07/6/2019 09:30 | even though their assets alone are worth over 500p share price the odds on a bid are pretty remote when the problem will always be the union strangle hold on the business. The political risk is nonsense the costs involved in re-nationalising all utilities has always put off previous Labour governments because they throw so much money into the public sector most of it borrowed. Labour get so stretched financially that all of re-nationalise talk is bluster to get the votes. | creditcrunchies
07/6/2019 08:51 | Downgrade to hold from HSBC that's all. | loosetoolz

06/6/2019 08:39 | I have seen various explanations of the oddness of broker notes, e.g. they are prepared for the clients who matter, not hoi polloi, and those clients have already taken appropriate action by the time the note gets into the public domain. But reasonable though it would be, that doesn't stand up to scrutiny. I think they're as much in the dark as the rest of us. | grahamite2

06/6/2019 00:03 | To be honest I look at the valuation, debt, cash, financial health, dividend cover, overall value. After that I drill into the other stuff. So how can somebody like Deutsche bank advise their clients of a share price of 150 giving a £1.5 Billion market cap to a company asset rich with solid assets valued at £4 Billion, small debt, low gearing? Surely they should have the book thrown at them they're basically manipulating the markets they should be fined. They have no evidence to back up a valuation 1/4 of the company's actual assets when their gearing is low. Their current book value is 461.9p | creditcrunchies

05/6/2019 20:24 | you do wonder where these brokers get these valuations of 100 to 150p a share for a business of this size still paying dividend, still reporting profits. It doesn't take into account the total value of their assets surely? Bankruptcy risk is low with a Z-Altman score of 2.64 it's one of the highest when you compare other FTSE companies. Dividend cover is 1.18 for 2020, 1.22 for 2021 which are broker estimates also. It has a book value of £4.6 Billion. Net fixed assets of £4.8 Billion. Net debt £320 Million. This company is asset rich yet they give it a market cap of £1.99 Billion. | creditcrunchies
