This will end up partially nationalised as in the 70’s, protecting the military side of the business but the rest is terminal, can’t bleve the drivel and wishful thinking on here. The cars mentioned BMW/RR build are German with German engines that arrive in a box, the U.K. is a low productivity “ screwdriver operation “ that only stays competitive by the government constantly allowing sterling to collapse, its lost every year against the dollar for 11 years and more against the euro interestingly. Brexit friction will damage RR also. There’s too much debt, long haul is finished for years, there will be more capital raises, changes of management, dilution, rationalisation, it does indeed represent Britain, its best days long gone and part of a capital destructive pathetic ftse 100 priced at levels of 20 years ago that has underperformed the USA by 300 pc, almost unbelievable. Dump and invest elsewhere. Back to .50p.

Siemens have already bought much of RR. industrial gas turbine division. Another German company, BMW make RR cars and own the car RR brand. There has for years been a cosy relationship between BMW and RR, dating back to when BMW made the early jet engines at the end of WW2. But any German company owning the whole of RR could be too much for some to swallow. Seimens ownership could also upset the Americans. Remember who is boss. No, post Brexit I think Boris would remove the golden share and allow United Technologies, who own Pratt and Whitney to own RR. A perfect fit, Pratt are weak in the wide bodied aircraft market. Although even that is unlikely, let us hope RR. stays British, a national champion.

the most likely aquisitors would be Siemens and Honeywell with the former most likley to overcome gov't protection measures.

Decided to trouser a few more today. £1.00 seems to be the floor during this cycle. News update didn't say much. Early doors for RR recovery but they are on track to address the costs side of the business. Hopefully onwards from here.

Boeing would not be allowed to buy RR. The 'golden share' prohibits this. There would be competition issues also. RR. is a supplier to Airbus, the XWB in particular. Boeing and the Americans resent Airbus and in particular the way they have profited from the recent demise of the 737 Max. No love lost between these ruthless competitors. RR. should stay independent of both aircraft manufacturers.

Soon to be cash flow positive. RR will survive, good long term prospects. With cost cutting RR is a lean and mean operation now, forced to apply tough financial discipline. A share for serious long term investors, not short term traders. Hold forever.

Flying hours held up well and supported by increased freight. But lots of new business in other areas, that and the vaccine program will see RR to blue skies again aimvho
