01/8/2024 15:05 | Rolls-Royce’s extraordinary recovery has further to go | smurfy2001
01/8/2024 14:43 | Yes I read it wrong, poor instinct. I should have realised that RR is in fashion and much loved. Could have got a quick 10% by parking money here last evening. As for fortune favours the brave, it never works out like that for me. When I become a virility investor I lose big. I am a mediocre middle order batsman who slowly compile a score by taking singles. Sold out of RR. at 262p having made a big profit. Typical. | careful
01/8/2024 14:42 | watford, indeed, I sold a chunk late march at 4.25, to offset a loss during a bed and Isa for PSN. still holding half my initial purchase and no way to offset the CGT now as everything I have invested is now in an ISA other than the RR. holding and some ERV which might present a tax deduction if they ever get delisted. Though in no rush, can pop them over to the Isa over the next few years to mitigate tax, and at 90p purchase price a 5-8p Divi is a decent return. | sdt7618
01/8/2024 13:59 | One of few got right although my ISA was full so got a chunky cut bill coming. Will have to sell before inevitable increase in cgt tax.Going to be a painful self assessment next year | watfordhornet
01/8/2024 13:50 | I sold some all the way up. Last lot was at 4.40. Am thinking of selling a few more now. I am already in profit with a big tranch yet to sell. Incredible ride. | tygarreg
01/8/2024 13:47 | I guess the USA markets are buying in now! | tygarreg
01/8/2024 13:18 | Sold a load today at 4.85 and 4.96 bought Easyjet at 4.42, Empire Metals at 7.35 and Alpha Growth at 1.99p I'm only holding about 258000 in Rolls-Royce now | cevodniya
01/8/2024 13:15 | Then very good luck to you Cev. But I note that whilst you have been fortunate in buying at such a low cost you were not brave however yesterday 🤣 yet feel happy to have a pop at careful. | mcunliffe1
01/8/2024 12:46 | MCunliffe1, it would have been around Oct November of 22 at 70p | cevodniya
01/8/2024 12:26 | I bought years ago and took up the rights , I’ve only traded a few times with small amounts to get my holding to a round number. I am 8 bagging at present and didn’t take out my original stake at 437 when I was at 7 times my original stake. I will let this ride further as recovery is ongoing | noramping
01/8/2024 12:12 | So, when did you last purchase Cev? I bought £5k on 25 July and £3k on 25 June, a further £3k 11 June. | mcunliffe1
01/8/2024 11:55 | Careful, so how did your theory that those in the know yesterday knew what was being announced today and therefore yesterday's price was already priced in. You in cash, waiting for today's result before making a decision. Ok, Careful one, how has that worked out? Fortune favours the brave not the Careful. | cevodniya
01/8/2024 11:47 | The current CEO wil get plenty of plaudits (deservedly) but I think his predecessor deserves some credit too. The present success has been years in the making, across some very difficult years. | 1knocker
01/8/2024 10:26 | Need to go over 5 pounds | teamwork1
01/8/2024 10:09 | Absolutely, very positive and productive discussion and contributions by all here. Thanks a lot for filtering trolls and time passers! | foreverbull
01/8/2024 10:06 | £66m in reduced interest costs (slides). Could include share buy backs (conf call). | smurfy2001
01/8/2024 09:56 | I think that was announced in June? The glossies :- . | skinny
01/8/2024 09:49 | SMR shortlisted in Swedish selection (slides) | smurfy2001
01/8/2024 09:41 | In my case it's down to luck - partly. I bought RR for my grandkids Trust Funds that I'd set up with the £2,500 I'd received for my old Honda Civic being economically written off. I got the eldest two in at 119.9p It was reading the posts on here after those 30th Nov 2021 investments that opened my eyes to the SMR possibilities. That's when I started to invest for myself in the SIPP in mid Dec 2023 at £2.96 I've kept adding since and it is today, my largest holding in the SIPP, LGEN just trailing. My dad was a mechanic in the RAF during the war and spoke very highly of the Merlin engines he worked on in the UK and then in India and Burma when he was posted out there. A great British Company with a very interesting pedigree. It ticks all the boxes for me. | mcunliffe1
01/8/2024 09:36 | Interest rate cut in uk (maybe 50/50) and USA opening will be interesting | younasm
01/8/2024 09:35 | Ruthless cost cutting by Warren East to survive the pandemic is now driving margins. A rich valuation of £38bn puts forward PE at above 20 I would guess. Not cheap, but prospects look bright, a growth share. Hold for the longer term. Hard to read Labour's intentions on SMR right now, they seem to be cancelling a few infrastructure projects. Despite that, we are optimistic that a UK national champion such as RR. will be supported. | careful
01/8/2024 08:55 | Full year divi should equate to about 3.5%.ie 30 % of profits divided between shares in issue. | johnkidd1
01/8/2024 08:53 | BigDave, MC , Smurfy , VW , and all others who contribute on here , a big well done to all of us, as investing is never easy at the best of times ! And Rolls Royce now has the brightest of futures ahead with all the portfolio of products whizzing into gear. My target long term is still 1200.00 + for this share ,and the ride isn't going to be without dilemma along the way , but the future definitely looks bright for us all now, well done to all long term holders ;-)) | thegrafter
01/8/2024 08:24 | I wasn't far off on the estimated dividend .... === Rolls-Royce roars back to life after pandemic crisis Rolls-Royce has brought back its dividend as the engineering titan roars back from its pandemic-era crisis. That is expected to amount to about 5-5.5p per share based on the latest forecasts, which were upgraded on Thursday. | smurfy2001
01/8/2024 08:21 | In 2 years these will be over £8 IMEO. | jugears |
