But one good one will do.

Good luck Square, a profit is never wrong and thank you for being honest, not that you need to have been.

Speaks volumes.

I may well sell on any decent spike tomorrow for 30% in just a few weeks.

Bought in last friday, I think I'll hang on a bit, see what comes of the next few holes, any idea of how they are doing on their other explorations?

Well done Doctor. May well have been the right call. but! I always live in hope of the big one!:-)

Each time a well finds oil there is some(difficult to quantify) hope that they've hit something big.

Dr Square,
you may have been a day early, Tuesday is the usual day for Aus oilers to declare news of what ever sort.

Evening all

Just to be up front have cashed in my trading shares today. no reason other than profit is profit. It was a punt to see if I could raise funds to take myself off to Turkey so happy that I am having a free Holiday.

Good luck all

that's the only reference I suggested there was and it seems very positive for Dunsborough that it's already included in AWE's forward production prospective. Isn't it?

Afternoon All

Recent presentation only reference I can find to Duns is the Graph at the end On reserves and resources. Some intresting reading on overall oil and Gas trend over all.

Starting to think about cashing my postion and leaving my core holding as normal.

3 days since last announcement. Prior to that the well was spud on 21st March and in the next 7 days it was drilled to 100 metres above proposed total depth. found oil around 1500 metres down and 2 cores were cut and recovered from reservoir section. What have they done in the last 3 days and why no announcement?

AWE have been running the story!! not Roc. AWE 26th March announcent(after 5 days drilling) was more bullish than Roc. Now today when Roc give us no news AWE have a presenation which includes Dunsborough in their forward production prospectus.

Did they cut the other core they mentioned and did they recover the core? What did the core show? are they now drilling on to total depth? have they plugged and abandoned? Has there really been no price sensitive news in the last 3 days? Have they stopped operations temporarily because of weather?(Cyclone farther north) Have they taken a Monday holiday?

Supposedly AWE have included Dunsborough production in their forward looking production profile in a presentation given today. I can't access the presentation but if correct that sounds confident. imho dyor

Much depends on length, width and depth(oil column) of the reservoir. Also porosity and oil quality.

Expected Length of reservoir according to a few presentations appears to be around 10kms and width about 1 to 2 kms.

So how do Roc come up with 5km2. My guess is they are only taking length for the time being as distance between wells + .5km either side = 2.6 kms.

If the above assumption(all imho dyor) is correct then potential nearly x 4 for the area of field.

again imho dyor

THREE doyens of Australia's mid-tier petroleum sector, Roc Oil, ARC Energy and Australian Worldwide Exploration, seem to have hit paydirt with an oil discovery off Western Australia. ...

I`m not so sure on that, We still need to find the bottom of this (water contact) So much to play for IMHO the 3rd log should be announced Monday possible 10-15 mmbl in place to rock.

So announcements on that soon ie field size? we also have shorts closeing be interesting to see if we actually have someone controlling the price below £1 or not?

The problem is that ROC have so much going on for a small cap it is easy to lose track. Just for my sake when and if, we think we will get an announcement on commercial find in China? and development timescale open to the BB please comment!

Any thoughts on the timescale of the latest Angola spud??

Regards

All in all a good day in ROC Aus seems to like the anouncement judging from Hot copper. So weekend newspapers will make a difference over there possibly.

Just complete waffle on my part but thats how I`m thinking.

Have a good weekend all

I would like to see a bit of strength from this, however as with the nature of the beast it will probably drop back until the next announcement.

I'm not up todate with ROC. Is this a new discovery in a new area or is it an extension to an existing field?

Nice to see them going up.Almost sold yesterday. The only worry was the moderate to poor porosities in the first well. The original plan was not to dst test well but were going to use the MDT tools.Nice light oil though.

Other good news is they took about 1 week to drill this well. Cheap as chips in comparative oil exploration economics!(whatever that means!:-))
