Falklands has some of the best oil there is, look at BOR for a proven reserve at $35bbll, doesn't come out cheaper than that apart from Iraq, maybe PET is for factnad figures and that could blow up like his BOO short.

On a purely factual note Mr Moody, it would be advisable for you to read the Admission of Securities to Listing book (usually referred to as the Yellow Book) issued by the Financial Conduct Authority that lays out the regulations for admission to the Official List of the London Stock Exchange which details all the ongoing obligations for Rockhopper Exploration and it's Directors.

No doubt, the F.C.A and the London Stock Exchange will be contacting you and seeking explanations shortly.

The point being made is that both ExxonMobil and Royal Dutch Shell came to the same conclusion that the North Falklands Basin did not contain sufficient hydrocarbons (Oil and Gas deposits) to be commercially viable to extract.

This was of course then followed up by the collapse of Desire Petroleum PLC which found seawater not Oil in the North Falklands Basin.

Move forward to now (2022) and during the last 18 years Rockhopper Exploration PLC hasn't pulled any Gas or Oil from the South Atlantic ocean near or around the Falklands.

It raises the question why ??

Maybe ExxonMobil and Royal Dutch Shell were indeed 100% correct in the first place, and Rockhopper Exploration PLC actually is the longest running scam in history.

After extensive test drilling in the North Falkland Basin, Royal Dutch Shell also concluded that there were insufficient Oil reserves to make commercial recovery profitable.

The Falklands Islands has been talked-up as the next big thing in oil exploration terms many times in the past. Industry giants, including Exxon-Mobil and Royal Dutch Shell, explored without luck in the 1990s, and there was another flurry of interest in 2010 when a rapidly-rising oil price sparked an UNSUCCESSFUL prospecting rush.



A number of small A.I.M listed oil exploration companies including the now defunct Desire Petroleum, along with Falkland Oil and Gas, Argos Resources, Borders & Southern and Rockhopper Exploration all raised money from investors that foolishly believed untold riches awaited.

Hopelessly optimistic comments started appearing on investor bulletin boards (including ADVFN) with many saying Britain’s willingness to fight to reclaim the Falklands from the Argentine invasion in 1982 was the only proof needed that large quantities of oil and gas could be pulled from the South Atlantic.

This proved to be extremely poor judgement and after that initial frenzy, the oil price collapsed to under $40 per barrel and quite rightly the City of London turned it's back on oil exploration around the Falklands Islands.

Since then very little has actually happened in terms of extracting Oil and Gas from around the Falkland Islands leaving shareholders in Rockhopper Exploration PLC very much out of pocket.

Recommendation: AVOID
