26/8/2020 14:27 | It's got to fill the gap first :-P | plat hunter
26/8/2020 14:25 | okey doke! let's see where ROCK heads to next! Not long to wait, methinks. | 2magpies
26/8/2020 14:23 | Almost... Open and close refers to the trading period defined by the candle, not the open and close of the market. Ie, 1 minute, 5 minute, 15 minute, 1 hour, 5 hour, 1d, 1w and 1m Like I said earlier the gap is at 10am on the 20/08/2020 on the 5hr | plat hunter
26/8/2020 12:39 | plat hunter exactly: Based on your definition (i.e. 'open and close'), I can see no 'gap' between 0.45 and 2.35! Key words being 'open' and 'close', not intraday! 'open' and 'close' refers to open and close of trading! otherwise practically every price move would constitute a 'gap'! | 2magpies
26/8/2020 12:18 | There are 4 different kinds of gaps, none of them occur because both buyers and sellers can't trade.Candles are merely a record of the open and close of the time period the candle reflects. The gap on the 20th july for the 5hr is a continuation gap and it occurred at 10am on the 20th August...."Continuat | plat hunter
26/8/2020 12:02 | big drill excitement | markfrankie
26/8/2020 11:41 | plat hunter my understanding is: its only a gap if neither buyer NOR seller can trade. so, if the share price jumps from 3 to 6, in one go, there is nothing to stop you still selling at 3 (other than craziness!!) | 2magpies
26/8/2020 11:34 | I can't follow your instructions on the app maggie but check the 5hr... I may have mislead you by saying the 1 day. | plat hunter
26/8/2020 11:30 | greenrichard Point being: buyers/sellers have already had the opportunity to trade at all levels between 0.45 and 2.35. Therefore, all gaps (between those two points)are now closed. At no point, (other than as shown below) has there been a gap outside of trading hours. The (very) tiny gap, below .. between 0.44 and 0.45, may actually represent an 'island reversal', imo. free stock charts from uk.advfn.com | 2magpies
26/8/2020 11:19 | Plat Hunter 1. draw your chart 2. click on 'camera' icon, bottom right on charts page 3. click on 'chart grabber' tab, just above the actual chart - this will take you to 'chart grabber manager' page. 4. right click on 'link', copy and paste. Look forward to seeing your chart! PS: highlight gap, by using drawing tool (9th icon down on the far left!!) | 2magpies
26/8/2020 11:15 | Again apologies maggie the 1.6 gap is on the 5hr, not the daily | plat hunter
26/8/2020 11:14 | Small gap to 1.6 between 3rd/4th August? | greenrichard
26/8/2020 11:11 | Maggie...You misunderstand... I quoted a wrong chart for the gap down to 1.25, i agree there isn't a gap down to 1.25 for Rock. There's only the gap up at 1.6 here which it will likely fill today.Besides that i don't have a scooby how to post charts here, tried many times to no avail. Would be eager to be schooled on the matter. | plat hunter
26/8/2020 11:06 | plat hunter But there ARE no gaps on day close/open If markets are open, and shares are trading, then a jump, say from 1p to 2p, DURING trading hours, in one go does NOT constitute a 'gap', any more than say a 'jump' from 1.2 to 1.2001 Can you pls post your chart, just so we can see what you are seeing? Or point out WHERE/WHEN those gaps (apparently) occurred? Thanks. | 2magpies
26/8/2020 11:05 | Sorry magpie... you are correct... I haven't got a gap at 1.25 here, getting mixed up with something else i'm day trading.Bang on fir 1.60 though, so just straight back down 0.40 i guess :-P | plat hunter
26/8/2020 11:00 | 2magpies... because there's gaps at 1.60 and 1.25I've been saying this for days, check my posts.Have to finish with a buy at 1.6 on a daily candle, then the selling will resume to 1.25 as the next stop downwards.Every gap gets filled eventually. | plat hunter
26/8/2020 10:49 | plat hunter you've mentioned 'gap' @ 1.60, and now you say @1.25 Not sure I can see what you are seeing? free stock charts from uk.advfn.com Can you post your chart and point it/them out? Tks. | 2magpies
26/8/2020 10:35 | Happy to buy earlier despite the risks including shorters. Good luck investors. | maytrees
26/8/2020 10:28 | Note i said on Monday that there's a gap to be filled at 1.60.Don't get too comfy it's now got fill the gap at 1.25 | plat hunter
25/8/2020 18:21 | Well the longs wouldn't care if the shorters are naked. On these tiddlers you can have pre market announcements and they lose their shirts before breakfast. | geko5trade |
