Yes - I didnt even realise he was a founder of The Byrds, Nash used to be in The Hollies, Stills & Young in Buffalo Springfield. Their wider hippy circle of friends included Joni Mitchell, The Mamas & The Papas, Jefferson Airplane etc etc etc. The nucleus of a scene that became the California sound for a decade. Between all they've written & popularised so many standards, we've long since forgotten!
A horrible way to go out having burned off all your friends over half a century.
But the voice, the exceptional harmonies with Nash & the songs remain.

LM, enjoyed the doc. Crosby is a proper character alright. Amazed he’s still alive, as is he.

It was 50 years ago (March 11th, 1970) that Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young's Deja vu album was released. The album, which served as the follow up up to the previous year's, watershed Crosby, Stills, & Nash collection, was the first to feature Stephen Stills' Buffalo Springfield buddy and foil, Neil Young. Young had begun performing with CSN shortly after the debut album was released.

Deja vu, which hit Number One for just one week on May 16th, 1970, stayed in the Billboard Top 10 for a whopping 23 straight weeks. Highlights on the set included Graham Nash's instant standards "Our House" and "Teach Your Children" -- featuring Jerry Garcia making his debut on pedal steel guitar, David Crosby's title track and "Almost Cut My Hair," Stephen Stills' "Carry On" and the solo "4+20," Neil Young's "Helpless" -- as well as the group's reinvention and definitive take of Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock."

Recommended documentary if you like music history - filled in quite a few surprising blanks for me - timeless, a bit brilliant, sad & brutal all at once.

Good or bad that's the question. Anyone been keeping tabs on cash?

They had I reckon just over 1m early August and they've redeemed a few warrants since then. Think cash burn since must be at least 0.5m maybe more depending how much drilling.

A bit of good news on PLateau would be welcome, also if anyone's sniffing at Marengo although might be a bit early for that.

'Burning Both Ends: When Oliver Reed Met Keith Moon'

The story of one of the most infamous, unexpected and touching of friendships between two icons of the 1970s, Oliver Reed and Keith Moon.

In the mid-1970s, Oliver was an international movie star, and Keith was a rock 'n' roll legend, the drummer for rock band, The Who. Both were famous for their partying and boozing, as well as their undeniable talents. Mercurial and unpredictable, both men were at the top of their game - but the top can be a very lonely place.

Then they met, on the film set of The Who's epic rock opera, Tommy. What followed was a revelation - in each other they found a true kindred spirit, their own shadow image.

This is a story of madness and mayhem, antics and adventures, but also of love and loss - the dangerous, dazzling brilliance of two unbridled spirits connecting, but then the huge pain when one of them dies prematurely.

Recounting the electrifying "bruv-affair" between these two iconic figures, Burning Both Ends is the story of two men who found in each other a true friend, and who loved each other as fiercely as they partied...

Written by Matthew Broughton - inspired by true events, but scenes and characters have been created for dramatic effect.

Starring Sean Pertwee as Oliver Reed, & Arthur Darvill as Keith Moon. Directed by Sam Hoyle. A BBC Cymru/Wales production for BBC Radio 4 first broadcast in 2011.
