Perfectly ok to short.

But I would say that covered shorts are better than 'naked' ones.

(of course you can just 'bet')

For a name tag Like Gekos trade, that is an incredibly ironic and naive statement

In the medium to long term shorting is irrelevant because the shares have to be bought back. Most long position reduce the free float and have a sustained effect on the price. Shorting tends to increase volatility but is zero sum.

Respectfully I disagree, but each to their own and I wish you well

This isn't a fire and forget asset shakester, this is far too high risk for that. For fire and forgets, you should really be buying profitable producers. Companies like Rock are ten a penny, most get pumped, dumped and drift into obscurity before a private company takes the licence for next to nothing then starts the process all over again.

No matey I'm nowhere near sophisticated enough. I leave that kind of thing to the professionals

Great... i'd some more research if i was you and see when i opened it.I was even able to roll the margin into a further 2 contracts without risking any of my own money now that is very good.Ps... You'll also not o said i was expecting a tick up... To surmise further on that, theirs a gap to fill at 1.6 before it looks bombs south to 1.25.Just sit back at watch if you're not sophisticated enough to trade around your position

How's the short looking?

Then more fool you, there's always 2 sides to the market and without the sellers you can't buy.You don't have to short but if you sell ehen the shorters are active you can buy back even more share than you had before. You can benefit from the volatility without shorting, don't be so naive about it. ;-P

Plat Hunter. Have you invested anything here? If not which is obvious, then why are you banging on?

Yep that's what he's saying over an over and over. But why would you repeat yourself countless times per day for no reason? Will have an ulterior motive otherwise you would only post your opinion once.

I see it that this is far from a pointless exercise, if the deep drill comes up with the goods, then it is quids in. Simple.

So you are saying it is a pointless exercise and that regardless of what ROCK finds, it is all pointless and worthless??

How much it will cost is exactly what it's about.Rock have just joined the club of thousands of companies with licences they can't sell for a downstream production royalty or produce themselves.Clueless if you think this is something that could be developed or sold on.

How they fund the next stages will not necessarily be a bar to invest in this company. If nothing is found then like anything else it will be time to possibly bail out. That time has definitely not come about as yet. On the contrary, deep drilling is happening on the back of positive shallow drills.

If ROCK find the vein of gold that they have set out on then the next phase will be mining it out or out sourcing this find. Regardless of mcap and I'm sure you agree that the share price will fly. It will be a nice problem for ROCK to have, they are not going to walk away from such a find.

Actual producing mines will waste more than 0.40% grade to send to processed tailing damsYou'd need at least a grade of 0.50 and 100,000 tonnes just for tailings treatments to be commercially viable and Rock haven't even got that at near surface.People who actually know how much a mine costs, will not buy here.
plat hunter

Agree george... But mines are expensive... without commercially viable near surface material, you can't physically accrue enough earnings to fund the deep mine especially not at these mcaps. And that's where this one all falls down.

Plat Hunter - we will wait and see. The share price will drift which is happening. This will go back to 2p just prior to results. We shall also have updates before final results.
We all know you have to dig deeper for better grades. You almost never going to find good grade near surface, otherwise gold would not be the pricely commodity it is today.

Of course it is going to drop weeks before deep drill results. There will be a flurry of buying a few days before results. Indication shows that every chance of good results. A very quick placing and money raised at 1.62, coming from institutional investors. Nothing to indicate that these have been dumped. It is hold tight and wait or bail out. Plat hunter, so can I ask how much you have invested here? Nothing I suspect and if so this board has absolutely no interest to you. So just go and deramp something else to fulfill your time. It is wasted here.

I agree , looks like it's taking a breather and might even tick up a little before continuing it's fall. Have closed my short for confirmation but it will be going straight back on, as this is an over priced basket case.
