03/12/2003 11:13 | Short note in today's FT - Ricardo have won a case brought by Rolls Royce about con rods in diesel engines asking for £50M - RR refused leave to appeal but intendng to go to the Appeal Court anyway. Don't whether this was really significant but it might have overcome doubts about buying? | huttonr

03/12/2003 10:44 | still moving upwards, if it manages to rise 20% maybe they will be forced to put out an RNS regarding shareprice movement. A bid would have to be at least £2.50 imho | pictureframe
03/12/2003 10:38 | Looks like I may have missed out here. My guess is that there may be some delayed buys to come through. Good luck to those that hold. | goliard

02/12/2003 16:03 | I think that was a sell, not a buy. I'm still waiting for 150p. Two more huge sells follow it. | goliard
02/12/2003 15:56 | Big buy just gone thorugh 325k , first in ages | pictureframe
01/12/2003 21:58 | Just checked latest brokers forecasts. Now 2004 expected to be £7.5M only and EPS of only 12p, with re-bound to £11.5M in 2005 (EPS 20p). Brokers are clearly unnerved and have discounted further problems quite heavily. This probably accounts for the slide of past 2 weeks. With EPS the divi is only just covered in 2004 so yield would need to nudge at least 6% IMO to attract the income holders given the risk. Looks as though 150p is definitely target. Below this the long term (huge) support is at 100p (last recession). Cant see this being broken under any circumstances unless there is something going on that we do not know about. I could be a buyer soon but not yet. | jelfsie
01/12/2003 17:42 | In respone to Salpara111 there is a round of redudancies in place now, 70 or so going around Xmas. | amateur trader
01/12/2003 11:09 | I have just sold one of my big holdings so I am cash ready. This fall is getting stupid now and as soon as this turns I will be in again for a lot of these as I believe its at least a two bagger from here med term | pictureframe
30/11/2003 21:27 | approaching long term support at 1.65p | panagos
28/11/2003 19:46 | Directors very often get it wrong - I for one wouldn't necessarily buy just because a few Directors have done so. Just look at Marconi - the FD bought at about a quid, before they fell to about a penny! Although I do agree that it is a positive sign. If they thought it was going belly-up they wouldn't go near it with a barge pole. It all depends on those in the City deciding enough is enough. I agree with the previous poster regards potential profit warnings in the new year. With the price in freefall I suggest it would be prudent to wait until the turn of the year. | snagsby
28/11/2003 16:41 | Hmm, while I was not tempted at 220 I am starting to feel that the price is soft enough to discount another round of bad news. I guess that the one thing which could upset the apple cart is if they were forced into a round of forced reduncancies which would be costly. I guess the bottom line is that there would appear to be little lost by sitting on the sidelines for the moment. I guess that as the company has not sought to reassure following a drop of over 50% in the share price means that there may well be more to come. Having said that there is the curious issue of the directors buying at the 260-270 level. Admittedly not huge values but now on a healthy loss but not apparently looking to increase their exposure even at these levels. | salpara111
27/11/2003 12:30 | What you have to contend with is the outlook for the european / american motor industry. They are cutting R&D costs like mad and this can only mean a difficult 2004 for RCDO. At what point a buy?. Well P/E of 6 on revised 2004 forecasts of 21p gives 126p and would appear to discount a fair bit of bad news. Alternatively div yield at 6% must be attractive to somebody i.e. 150p. I dont do "bottoms" (said the actress.....etc etc) but I might look at this below 150p. A further profits warning in the new year cant be ruled out and the timing of their summer acquisition does not look too clever (with hindsight). DYOR etc. | jelfsie
27/11/2003 12:08 | well suprised by further downward movement. got it a little wrong but will leave it another week to see if there is a correction | pictureframe
26/11/2003 23:34 | downside is limited imho £16m profits | panagos
26/11/2003 23:27 | If there is no support, what can we do? | c lau
26/11/2003 22:57 | if 160 ish support holds, could be the bottom.... | panagos |
