Yes, suspect Paul Scott effect. The Paul Scott that has called this all wrong for almost 2 years :)

Impossible to know what happens next with RBG. If lfl's fall significantly they will be bust pretty quickly. Easy to make money with an expensive, faddy new bar for a bit, but then punters get bored of venue, fed up with high prices etc and move on to a different venue, old venues need lots of capex etc etc. Can't think of a single listed trendy bar/nightclub company that has done well over the long term...RBG may well have had it's day. We'll see.

Imran, it could be the Paul Scott effect. He published a positive review of RBG on Stockopedia yesterday

Hope for the shareholders involved here, it does get taken out.

I was interested in buying in but have been burnt before catching falling knives.

I was in their London American Square venue this Friday lunchtime. Food was nice and staff friendly. Although very quite for a Friday lunchtime in the city. Counted only five customers.

If I was Stonegate I would wait to pick up sites from the administrator. May be close to breaching covenants. No meaningful headroom on the debt. Concept tired and cash-hungry.

The succession of lame excuses for under-performance here calls into question the viability of the offering as much as the quality of the management. Buffet's quote 'when a management with a reputation for brilliance tackles a business with a reputation for bad economics, it is the reputation of the business that remains intact' comes to mind here.

The only reason for Stonegate to consider a bid would be to avoid further damage to the brand.

Can't rule out another opportunistic merger approach from Deltic but they will now be £1.4m underwater on their holding which will have put a further dent in their balance sheet and, thus, their ability to raise any finance.

He also bought 50,000 shares at not far off twice the price they are now trading at, so he does at least have an incentive to get the company back on track.

Hugely disappointing BUT the new CEO has not had a very long time in the role.

I have been a long term investor and I am extremely disappointed with RBG's performance. The management is quite clearly useless and should be begging Stonegate to buy the company out or someone else. I went to the AGM but there were hardly any shareholders there to ask questions of the directors.

There appears to be no sign of improvement it is just a one way ticket to hell!
I am very very frustrated.

Would they take 1 pound as a takeover offer? Clearly now too small to stay independent
