04/1/2018 13:39 | Things seem to be a bit more organised on the finance side now.Last year we got notice of 7 days of an upcoming trading update. This year we're getting more than 2 weeks notice! | boonkoh
28/12/2017 13:15 | One of Paul Scott's tips for 2018. Revolution Bars: (RBG) - cash bid at 203p from Stonegate was rebuffed by shareholders. So why is the price now at 150p? Likely to be more bids in 2018, in my view. A good quality, expanding business, at a bargain price. | masurenguy
01/12/2017 10:25 | Except it wasn't being presented as a bid, but a "merger". Deltic were (are?) in a mess and need to make substantial investment in their estate just to maintain revenues. RBG has assets and cashflow. "Mergers" are supposed to create added value from the combination of the two. The advantage for Deltic is clear; what's in it for the shareholders of RBG? | jeffian
01/12/2017 09:27 | It all happened in a hurry and at the time Deltic didn't have access to the cash but now they can plan ahead and raise the finance in time for another bid. They must be looking at RBG seriously now and wouldn't waste their time making another bid unless they thought they would have a good chance of succeeding. It costs a huge amount of money to hire advisers and make forecasts etc. But of course it is always what is in it for the bidder....why else do it they are not a charity! | crumppot
30/11/2017 23:49 | As per my previous posts, this is all about what's in it for Deltic, not what is best for RBG shareholders. "Deltic had previously said it reckoned it could deliver £6.8m in cost savings as well as a £900,000 reduction in the cost of servicing its debts. Deltic pays 8pc on a £22.3m loan but would be able to refinance this post-merger with a lower rate." It's all very well Deltic going out and buying a few shares now, but why weren't they prepared to put cash on the table for a bid? Answer: they haven't got any. They need this deal to bulk up their (non-existent) asset base and, by acquiring RBG's real assets, effectively re-finance themselves. RBG shareholders, be under no illusions - Deltic have their own interests at heart, not yours. | jeffian
30/11/2017 18:42 | Was the MD from Deltic just attending as a silent observer or did he say anything? Several reports on the Deltic holding now. hxxp://www.cityam.co | spot1034
