05/8/2017 15:59 | Superb range of storage products (link below) and been selling for some time, these are not the only players out there, if REDt have finished their development phase then they need to get their finger out. | owenski
05/8/2017 15:43 | The world's first containerized retractable solar power plant or generator has been launched. The unique technology enables simplified and rapid solar deployments of variable duration. On the other hand, it also provides users the ability to easily relocate their solar assets when and where needed and as per convenience. There's some seriously groundbreaking stuff going on in the world right now. | iglenn
05/8/2017 13:02 | What got me really interested is their battery technology. They use LiFePO4, which has probably the double lifetime of classic Li-Ion Tesla uses. That really reduce the cost of car over lifetime, so you don't have to spend another $10 000 for new battery after 8-12 years. It supports fast charging (100kW), has good density and probably good price. Tesla a doesn't use classic Li-Ion. LiFePO4 holds half the energy at a given weight than Tesla's LiNiCoAlO2 (NCA). NCA is much more prone to thermal runaway and not nearly as tolerant to 100% charges so Tesla has to use thermal management to keep it safe. | dlg3
05/8/2017 12:56 | lithium good for watches, phones, laptops hedge trimmers and short duration grid storage Flow battery,s good for long duration grid storage, remote electric supply,s, telecom towers and any large scale storage that require more than 1 Hour duration. also with lithium you have to install 30% more storage than you need, in order to keep the battery,s discharge to 70%, leaving 30% in the battery, whith Flow battery,s you can discharge 100%.. | dlg3

05/8/2017 11:20 | 'Death of lithium', dream on, it's only just starting, have a look at some of the offerings for storage out there, pretty hi-tec stuff..... and selling real products. Lechlanche has an impressive array. | owenski

05/8/2017 10:37 | Boston, MA, June 27, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Consumer electronics like smartphones and laptops have traditionally driven the most demand for energy storage devices such as lithium-ion batteries, but clean energy advances mean that transportation and stationary energy storage will soon become the largest energy storage markets, according to Lux Research, a leading provider of intelligence services, helping clients drive growth through technology innovation. Transformations in the electricity grid mean that stationary storage has the highest growth rates and will reach $19 billion in 2025. This growth will have profound implications, ranging from how whole economies are powered to how populations and products move around. China and India lead stationary energy storage growth. Stationary energy storage will be a 34 GWh market worth $19 billion in 2025, largely driven by the emerging long-duration market. The need for long-duration storage in uses like peak power shifting or renewables integration will expand significantly, with the emerging markets of China and India driving the most growth. | dlg3
05/8/2017 10:34 | Another nail in lithium,s long duration storage days... A big plus for flow battery,s.. | dlg3
05/8/2017 10:33 | Also touted as an advantage of the EnergyPod technology particularly in comparison to lithium-ion rivals is the fact that “common” manufacturing processes are used in its production, from welding to injection molding to the assembly stages. This is a production advantage also claimed by other makers of flow energy storage like RedT and Redflow. The latter, an Australian company, uses a lot of easily replaceable plastic parts in its systems, for example and claimed to have been the first flow battery maker to arrive at mass production, through a deal with Flextronics. Primus also said its manufacturing lines require less specialisation than is needed for lithium-ion battery production | dlg3
05/8/2017 10:32 | the article does say a hand full, would hardly call that crowded !!! One among a small handful of redox flow-based energy storage system providers crossing the line from pilot phase into commercial deployment that includes the likes of VIZn, Redflow and RedT, Primus Power released its latest range of storage systems, EnergyPod 2, in February this year. The devices use zinc bromide battery chemistry generally targeting energy storage duration of around five hours. | dlg3
05/8/2017 10:26 | It's a crowded market, room for lots of players though, just a shame that REDt's stated policy is 'Slow'. | owenski

04/8/2017 20:53 | Price decline on energy storage could beat records Over recent years, the energy sector has watched in awe while the price on solar panels in particular has fallen dramatically. Now it seems that this price decline will soon be exceeded by battery technology. BY MATHIAS ØRSBORG JOHANSEN Published 04.08.17 at 08:24 Kopier og videresend ikke artiklen. 04/8/2017 20:34 | the USA back on track.... Scott Pruitt, Chief of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has reversed the decision to delay implementing emissions reduction rules. The laws, which were set in motion during the Obama Administration, aim to reduce the amount of ground-level ozone – this is created when emissions from cars, power plants and other sources react with sunlight to create harmful smog. In June, Mr Pruitt announced he would delay compliance by one year to give the agency more time to study the plan and avoid “interfering with local decisions or impeding economic growth”. The former Oklahoma State Attorney was then sued by 15 states, triggering his change of decision. | dlg3
04/8/2017 20:29 | The Scottish public is increasingly calling for strong policies in the Climate Change Bill to help cut emissions and become more sustainable. That’s according to a new survey conducted by WWF Scotland, which suggests more than three-quarters of the public think the government should invest more in improving the energy efficiency of homes across the country, up from 67% last year. Around 68% of people want to see higher investments to reduce emissions, like cleaner public transport and low carbon heat networks. Again, this is significantly up from 2016, when the figure was at 59%. With regards to whether more electricity should be generated from renewable resources, 71% said yes, up from 61% the year previously. The WWF said the results should encourage the Scottish Government to use the forthcoming Climate Change Bill to implement the policies and investments the public want to see happen. | dlg3
04/8/2017 18:28 | Orders aren't necessary for price rises. Prospects for orders in the medium term have to exist though. Here they do. Yes ..good weekend... t y'all. | alchemy
04/8/2017 17:59 | Hope you are correct d1g3. Have a good weekend all | fieldhouse
04/8/2017 17:31 | Price up, still no orders. Therefore (a word for those capable of logic) orders aren't necessary for a price rise. It could double or triple with no orders, and even then would only be at recent highs, and then go on to rise much further when orders are announced. Just referring to the discussions a couple of weeks ago, that's all. | pierre oreilly
04/8/2017 17:19 | Everyone happy now, quite a large rise for a small volume....wait till that RNS lands on Monday..... | dlg3 |
