08/1/2017 18:30 | Scott McGregor, CEO, redT energy commented: "This successful pre-testing of redT's energy storage system not only marks a significant moment in the company's development, but also for the broader industrial energy storage market. The deployment of this machine to the Isle of Gigha is ground breaking as far as it is represents the first time that contract manufacturing of a large commodity unit such as this has been successfully deployed ahead of commercial production globally. This important milestone highlights how redT is well placed to build upon its leading position in the market for large scale, long-life and robust energy storage solutions." | dlg3
08/1/2017 18:29 | RedT "claims it can sell the batteries at half the price or less of its rivals." Scott McGregor, CEO of redT said, "The approval of grid connection is a major milestone for redT energy. Progressing a new technology from prototype to commercial deployment in live applications can often present integration difficulties. We are delighted to complete the connection and certification process. "We are likewise pleased to have demonstrated to our UK and international customers the redT energy storage system can be readily coupled with renewable generation and connected to the grid. We look forward to updating further as we continue to build momentum." | dlg3
08/1/2017 18:05 | How does the GILDEMEISTER system compare with REDT's system? Robustness? Ease of use? Looks from the article alone as if they are ahead of us. Are they? (Though with the huge market opening up there is going to be room for more than one company obviously.) | slightlyrisky
08/1/2017 18:01 | there is no such thing as bad publicity, as gloden wonder found out many years ago, when there pot-noodle thing was said to be bad for you, they even advertised the fact themselves.....provi | dlg3

08/1/2017 17:54 | The ony thing is they are not really a competitor, as REDT can sell their battery,s at half the price of their competitors..... | dlg3
08/1/2017 17:51 | Masurenguy8 Jan '17 - 16:06 - 11112 of 11124 1 0 (premium) Interesting article about Gildemeister, RedT's main competitor, and their energy storage installation in Uganda. Their activities will help to stimulate the overall market growth and development for VRF batteries which will be of real benefit to RedT too. hxxp://www.ees-magaz GILDEMEISTER energy storage has just successfully installed four units of their proven, turn-key vanadium redox flow energy storage systems on Kitobo Island (Uganda) as the heart of a stand-alone micro-grid powered by photovoltaic energy. This is the first time that the 2,000 residents of the remote island in the Victoria lake have stable access to electrical power. | dlg3

08/1/2017 17:44 | alan, ever heard of this word "propaganda" ?. Look it up. Do you really believe that only were killed 56. How many did it effect?.... 72? I hear they have plans to open a Walmart in that area soon and the locals are overjoyed !!!. The sad event was nothing but catastrophic. Purely rhetorical. Chas | backdoorbill
08/1/2017 17:41 | Malko (2007)[169] estimated the risk for 70 years (1986 - 2056) in Belarus alone to be 62,500 additional cases of cancer and leukaemia as a result of Chernobyl. He arrives at the figure of 239,900 additional cancer and leukaemia cases for the whole of Europe. | dlg3
08/1/2017 17:29 | perhaps you should read this then re-post.... hxxps://ratical.org/ | dlg3
08/1/2017 17:28 | alanrussell yes we beleive you!!! That is how many died at the plant, not many years later, children dieing of cancer after being exposed to Chernobyl radiation!!!!! The premature deaths caused by Chernobyl will be huge, why do you think they wear protective suits when dealing with radioactive fuel or have mackhines deal with it, it is not so they can have a fancy dress party!!! | dlg3
08/1/2017 16:58 | All somewhat off-topic I know but the Chernobyl event raised above is interesting. How many died? Thousands? Tens of thousands? At one point Greenpeace was reported as having estimated 90,000 dead (although that was distorted). The World Health Organisation investigated over three years and in 2005 produced its report. Total deaths directly attributable to Chernobyl - 56. Hype and over-reaction suits both government and media. You will recollect that restrictions were placed on consuming sheep from parts of the UK as they had been affected by the resulting nuclear plume (sounds dramatic). What was omitted was that you could eat a lamb chop each day for a year and still absorb less radiation than one hospital X-ray. Lesson - never believe what you read. And if that applies to mainstream media and government, how reliable do you think postings on BB threads like this are? | alanrussell
08/1/2017 16:57 | Gildemeister arn't competition IMO, miles behind in tech and we have a fully outsourced product that can manufactured worldwide... Whilst they have been selling redT have been sorting out the back office end of things, we will soon be powering ahead. | dogrunner11

08/1/2017 15:35 | > Would you live near where someone parked a car outside? I do! Not quite seeing the similarities, with all what is going on in today's world I would rather not be living near what is perhaps a target in some opinions. | dogrunner11
08/1/2017 14:43 | The South African telecom and internet will be a huge market for REDT, lithium does not like the heat.....they need air con to keep a lithium battery cool, it defeats the object of the exercise.... | dlg3
