REC looks vulnerable. Clients will be struggling with margin calls - across their estate. Core clients- UK PFs - can only be long GBP through the hedging programme - the question is, how much.

The share price seems to be holding up pretty well, I do wonder how they are getting on with their hedging and other products...

the share price never seems to relate to the buy sell quotes.

One press release and this could be £1.00.

I am not a seller at this level as there is, I believe, much more upside to come.

One possible issue is that their core UK hedging business has them long GBP to varying degrees. Clients don't like writing cheques against losses on the forwards - even if those cheques are smaller than they might otherwise have been e.g. against a half hedge

With GBP:USD going off the deep end it is teeing up a very strong earnings period for Record. The staff incentive program is a profit share system, so FX movement will not have a positive impact there. The majority of other overheads are in sterling as far as I am aware. I am a little surprised this is not getting even the slightest recognition via the share price. Maybe another Q or two will highlight it..

These divis at REC are just great. 2.72p total just received. The divis keep everything ticking along and help alleviate gloom when markets are difficult.

For sterling based investors like me interesting to see increase in AUM expressed in £ from £63.1 to £64.2b.
The sad fact is that if Truss does as seems likely become PM the FX markets will not be happy.

Q1 highlights pretty good other than 6% overall decline in AUME:

Q1-2023 Highlights

· AUME net inflows of US$2.0 billion during the quarter

· Performance fees of £2.3 million earned during the quarter

· Awarded new Passive Hedging mandate, expected to build up to $8.0 billion by the end of the financial year

Never did answer that konrad. It was the dividend really. Rec was just a solid plodding income stock then, now it is much changed.
Today sees a mixed but positive Q1 where a combination of high performance fees and usd strength have more than saved the day.

Robsy2, the interesting question is what attracted you to Record in 2016-2018? They appeared to be going no where.

It all take time I suppose. It wasn't so long ago that this was trading at 30-40p a share.I bought at 25p in jan 2016, added in October 2018 at 31p and note that with the divis and an ill-timed sale,I have returns of 195% so far. REC has transformed itself of late. There are no nailed on certs of course but with a running yield of around 5% and some real prospects of further growth, the risk reward looks great.

Robsy2, the market seems to be ignoring their ambitions and their recent progress mostly.

I think it will be a gradual rerating as each piece of positive news is released (I hope!).

Edison note is out today. They pick up
on the stated ambition of 60m, 40% margins, eps at 9p for FY 2025. Sp will double from here if they can do that.Somewhat Shockingly FY 2025 is not so far away!

Macc there is a free research doc. on the Record Plc web site produced by Eddison and paid for by Record. This should give you their opinion.
