15/3/2024 16:08 | justice No, despite my alias name, I do not have a background in law, but I do read into it from time-to-time. I invest in tobacco and see these crazy awards given all the time. I also followed the BP case and the legal issues arising through insurance claims for Katrina. Call it a hobby. :) | louis brandeis
15/3/2024 16:07 | Never invest in UK listed companies that do a lot of business in America. The USA is a protectionist, xenophobic country. They took all our money during WW2 (and expect us to thank them for it!) and never miss a chance to repeat the trick, just ask BP investors. | cynicalsteve

15/3/2024 16:01 | Do you have a background in law? As a medic I can tell you there are multiple causes of NEC; the evidence is quite weak. This award is ridiculous, when most were expecting $10,000 to $200,000 max. | justiceforthemany
15/3/2024 15:55 | $60M for one case is because the US legal system allows punitive damages in addition to compensatory damages. Generally, in my experience, punitive damages tend to get watered down on appeal as the appellate courts work within a more robust legal mandate than the trial courts. Haven't been following this so not sure totally what is going on. I bought a tranche regardless. | louis brandeis
