22/5/2018 05:15 | Surely totte will be prosecuted? | hybrasil
30/4/2018 22:20 | indeed...look at the mkt cap and the amount of cash that has been piled in here by some big hitters. | barnetpeter
25/4/2018 21:32 | You may be right..it is a punt and nothing else..not for widows and orphans | jailbird
24/4/2018 21:16 | I don't see how this company can recover. Debt is now at about £40M (excluding the pension liabiility) and normalised operating profits are just £2M. The interest bill on the debt is £1.1M alone, and is only likely to go up in the future. I think there is a real chance that the debt holders lose patience here and simply take control of the company. | ftsestocks
23/4/2018 12:37 | BP As long as the other internal parts of the business will be profitable...worth a punt/trade Not bought in yet though..invested elsewhere, so no hurry | jailbird
23/4/2018 12:34 | Worth buying a few? I think so. 2 million disposal plus 4 million loan last month. Every chance of this recovering if the plan works. A punt of course but paying 14p is not the much higher prices paid in previous placings. Brexit may mean food manufac will be at a premium. Supporters with big pockets. Assets cover the mkt cap Not one to go mad on! | barnetpeter
23/4/2018 10:55 | FROM THE FINALS RECENTLY Sales revenues grew by over 20% but this was largely a result of recovering commodity prices in sugar and dairy. R&W Scott increased its sales by just over 5% while Garrett's pursued a strategy of retaining customer volume despite poor margins. Both businesses suffered gross margin reverses with Garrett Ingredients particularly suffering around the sharp and unexpected currency movements after the Brexit vote leading to increased commodity costs. A dispute regarding the supply of sugar constrained Garrett's trading position and remained unresolved at the year end. As a result the division traded at an operating loss. | jailbird
23/4/2018 10:50 | Yes I agree GBP21.3m of revenues and an operating loss of GBP0.9m Nets assets worth £1.9m It was loss making but I am surprised the Co could not turn that around | jailbird
31/1/2018 13:05 | The reason they aren't trading lower is the BOD put the RNS update out at 1030 hrs, so a lot of people will have missed it. This is a really underhand practise, which will be badly viewed by many, as effectively trying to hide the results. Another Shockingly bad update again. I feel sorry for the share holders on this one. Its only the big shareholders (owners) propping up this company by providing cash whenever it is needed to secure their investment. Otherwise it would go under or have to refinance again. I was tempted to buy in at 19p as a punt, but this just seems such a badly run company that I have no faith in the Management to turn it around any time soon. Sorry Rich | lammylover
31/1/2018 11:27 | Yes I'm staggered these aren't lower, where is the ex CEO now, what a con man. | eastbourne1982
31/1/2018 11:18 | What an absolute mismanaged crock this company is. Where is the shareholder value supposed to come from? This company traded at 2p a few years back! I'm only surprised the shares aren't back at that level. | boffster
06/1/2018 19:36 | Why not a high fat tax as well? Sugar is only a small part of the problem. People become obese due to a high fat diet, too much sugar and a lack of exercise, probably in that order of cause. | topvest
06/1/2018 17:49 | Sugar is proving to be a problem for Premier Foods It will be one here also , and at many other Food manufacturers Governments will have to move in 2018 with a sugar tax to save the NHS from going bust due to the strains being placed upon it | buywell3
23/12/2017 22:15 | 12p would be my guess. | eastbourne1982
23/12/2017 11:18 | Good money after bad comes to mind - Turnover vanity - profit sanity - IMO the latter possilby could apply to all managment especially past - 10% interest on bonds scalpers fee but justifiable as significant (imo) chance they might not get all funds back - Watching as could be nice business but DEBT potentially a killer. barnetpeter> You were wise to take the action you did - I never thought the trading update would be as bad as my interpretation of the sneeky one put out on effectivly Chrismas Eve when all departed the City Question for all - What price when Market opens ? | pugugly
22/12/2017 18:14 | Good Food ended up in indigestion! barnetpeter was right & I'm glad I'm out. | napoleon 14th
22/12/2017 17:54 | Yes, disgraceful behaviour continues. Unfortunately I have some interest through Downing. Why they invested in this dog is a mystery? It's quite clearly a low margin sub scale food manufacturer with a big appetite for capital and awful cash flow. | topvest
22/12/2017 14:05 | Gutless RNS out after hours today just before Xmas, I thought this company couldn't sink much lower in terms of how it's handled. Are the FCA investigating Pieter Totte, of course they aren't. Regulation of the stock market is a shambles, so many CEO's and directors should be serving prison sentences however it seems that generally nobody gives a toss. I don't hold any shares but watch with interest. | eastbourne1982
30/10/2017 11:11 | Decided to sell out for the moment. On reflection the debt situation could lead to a new equity placing or some form of discount fundraising. Interest rates going up could hurt too. Made a very small profit having bought at the lows but maybe this is just too risky at the moment and upside is low. | barnetpeter
23/10/2017 21:43 | No I disagree. I reckon this will be a big winner in 2018 as all the bad news is being cleared out now. I wont add any until a bit lower though Another rights maybe? | barnetpeter
23/10/2017 12:24 | Interesting:- Great t/o - Debt could probably kill the business - Can see it being taken private on the cheap by major shareholders- Ideal target for vulture funds but probably (imo) PI's - even buying at this price - will end up in tears - Any contrary views ? | pugugly
23/10/2017 06:36 | Ooops..... | lufc5
29/9/2017 17:54 | This company has been an absolute disgrace. | eastbourne1982 |
