Nice rant CNF. Many valid points sir!

Someone sold at high 5s on the day of the first news and said he needed the cash. What a great call; he now has the cash and can get almost 50% more shares if he wants!

Wish I'd have sold out too - ah, hindsight - but there will be a day when this gets carried away quicker than we can react and selling at 5-6p will miss another doubling or maybe more that follows immediately afterwards.

Clearly we have a solid amount of assets under-pinning this SP, so we continue being patient is my advice. Unless you need the cash - lol!

Well done, whoever it was - a long-ish-termer I think.

Lets not forget how the country got into this mess in the first place. Its by people like us YES like us (Joe Blog traders) turning a blind eye to the scurrilous and criminal activities of professional financiers. Thousands we have lost as individuals but instead of calling the market makers, nomads, directors, bankers and analysts the criminal liars they are we all decide to pretend we are traders ourselves and one day when we pick the right stock it will all be worth it.

The government is damn right to slap 40% CGT on us. That'll teach us to be more careful with our money and speak out against financial crime when we see it.

Which is what I do on this thread.

We need a rumour or leak to bring back the buyers...at the moment NEWS is far to far away but it will come and the rounderbout will start all over again. So make money on the rumour and sell on the fact

As for the nonsense posted by Pwhite and their ilk in Australia. I would love their answer to this one? Why are there so many rigs active onshore Texas if all they are drilling for are accumulations that are too small to be commercial? Also the shale plays, although they don't have as attractive economics as the traditional play types would their reserve size be classed as small? Perhaps not all the large resource plays have been fully exploited after all. Companies don't drill wells for the fun of it, they drill em aiming for commercial success. 20% is a meaningful amount to have in a prospect as large as 215bcf + 30mmbbls or liquids (P3). As that is produced it will be worth many times RRL's cap and they'll only require a fraction of that for DEVEX, its what's known as commercial projects. ;) Just because some frustrated investor hasn't had his returns quick enough because generally Texan well producion is smaller than some other geographic regions, perhaps he should review his investment strategy rather than make a fool out of himself. Who do you believe a private investor or all those US and international companies (including majors) drilling wells onshore USA? I'll prefer to follow those that know the industry, those that are drilling the wells. If the man wanted a fast buck perhaps he should have looked at some of the NS, African or Kurdistan players. Diversified portfolio and all that. If he's just sticking to Texan producers its gonna be a longish hall on most, but those that do develop their assets over the years can and will do very well, Endeavour oil and gas to name one.

Well here we go again share price down again on all this so called good news,
when shares go down their is always a reason the same when shares go up.........so the share price at the present time is going down here and in OZ
SO WHAT ARE THE REASONS NOW...MARKET MAKERS FILLING A BUY ORDER thats the usual excuse by investors or just loss of confidence, I am no expert but the shares do appear to be going down and nlot up if the news and potential was supposed to be good..cant change that

PWhite...Companies operating in Georgia have no problem receiving revenues for oil sales. By all means take a contrary view but please stick to facts.

Price exactly in line with Oz. So for UK MMs to take investors for a ride, they will have to start moving this up shortly. So expect this is a bit ofg shock therapy to hit UK weaker holders.

I really feel like selling before the MMs take it all away....

It's true, which is why it is imperitive to hold because imho this is going to start moving up idc.

"It's all about Georgia then Puntland."

Yes it is but these are areas of extreme political risk and until RRL actually receives cash in exchange for oil in these regions the projects will not be reflected in the shareprice.

That OZ article only sums up what I have been saying for months. The whole Texas project is just one big hype. Sure there is some oil/gas there but to suggest the amounts are capable of transforming RRL from anything but an AIM tiddler is just share ludicrous.

This line was of particular importance:-

"as a region, Texas has been explored to bits for hundreds of years... Do you think quality fields have not already been scooped up, or produced? well, they have..."

One thing I will say to you all is sometimes you have to sit back and seriously ask yourselves if the derampers have a point. At some point you have to ask yourselves with all the news on Texas, Puntland and Georgia why is the stock not going anywhere. I can tell you the answer to that and it is because serious investors genuinely know what's going on in Range Resources.

Texas was never going to be the company maker

It's all about Georgia then Puntland.

Texas = nice bit of income nothing more.

I will say OZ has much better quality derampers than us.
Quite smart compared to our village idiot.

This may help as to why RRS tanked and brought down RRL. These are from an OZ BB

Reading the Independant reserves report and knowing the background of the US onshore region, through watching all the ASX oilers in this region it is clear to me that Range are at the beginning phase of blowing shareholder wealth...

When I first got into the US onshore region through various stocks such as TEX, I was excited about the successes, discoveries. But years later after I got out, I realised that many factors involved made the package of Onshore US investment poor...
for example, tax, rolalties, land owner back in rights are the key ones...
I luckily got out and never looked back... Watching the 30 something oilers on the ASX in the region faulter, and raise capital (even in good markets) has really proven to be a testiment of what I have continually said over and over for years....

Ive seem it all before,
The reserves and flow rates per well are TOO small for it to materially impact the underlying value of the company...
there is no real value in these projects, the only value is of hype value...

as a region, Texas has been explored to bits for hundreds of years... Do you think quality fields have not already been scooped up, or produced?
well, they have...
no doubt theres a few good discoveries to come, but its all stacked against new entrants...

The only way this US venture can work is if Range has hundreds of producers...

looking at the history of ASX oilers in this region, and the capital commitments of such a mean feat, it is highly unlikely that this target could ever be achieved...
RFE might be one of the few that could do it, but I've done the numbers myself and NPV per well was not standout...

This is about Puntland, forget about Texas...
If your reason for investing was for Puntland, then any new projects, such as Texas are contrary to why you are holding...

The intricate details of the processes in Puntland are far above my head...
too much risk....

Oz seam to have no faith in this company and will profit take, the sooner we can bring all the shares onto AIM the better. In the long run it may be good for us that the ASX keeps falling as long as the AIM have buyers.

May be just may be this wil start to climb from here today.

hard - blimey, I try to keep it simple, def deny being 'sophisticated' !

the other chestnut re cgt is that if I buy shares in the same company in 2 tranches then sell some, I should be the one that decides which tranche - just like if they were in 2 different cos.

anyway - the sun is shining & hopefully a blue day...............
